What Do You Know?

• Write down something you know or something you have heard about the assessment center.


Round the Room…• Set your writing aside.• Move around the room.• Share what you know or have heard.• Hear what others know or have heard.• When you can’t remember any more, or when

time is called, return to your seat.• List as many ideas as you can remember.


… and Back Again• Talk in small groups.• Share lists and add new ideas or information

to your list.• Which ideas or comments seem to be the

most important to remember?• What ideas or comments may need more

clarification?


Discussion• What ideas or comments were heard

frequently?• What ideas or comments seemed the most

What Do You Know?• What do you know or what have you heard

about the assessment center?• Write one idea on each Post-it®.• Write as many Post-its as you can.


Create a Continuum• Place your Post-it® ideas on the wall to show

your level of confidence with each piece of information.

• Place your Post-its between “Know” and “Don’t Know”


Discussion• What patterns do you notice?• What ideas or comments seem to cause the

greatest concern?• What steps must you take to be successful at

Assessment Center Exercise Descriptions

• Read through the description for one of the six assessment center exercises.

• Highlight key terms.• Tell an elbow partner what you will have to

know and write about for this exercise, using your own words.


Dissecting the Descriptions• Use the highlighted exercise description.• Write one key word or phrase in each of the

boxes in the first column of the worksheet.• Write excerpts from the NB standards that

match the word or phrases in the boxes.• Fill in what you know.• Fill in what you need to learn.• What resources might help you?


What Do You Need?• Share completed worksheets with your elbow

partner.• What other ideas can be added?• What resources might be helpful?

• Repeat this sequence with the next assessment center exercise.
