O Alláh, I begin glorifying You with Your Praise.

You direct towards what is right through Your Grace.

I am convinced that You are the most Merciful in matters of forgiveness and mercy,

but most severe in matters of warning and retribution,

and the most mighty in matters of power and magnificence.

O Alláh You have allowed me to supplicate to You and ask from You.

Then hear my praise, O One who hears all, and answer my call, O Merciful,

and decrease my mistakes, O most Forgiving.

How often, O my God, You have relieved me of troubles, how much grief You have

dispelled,

CáÏáWåoáxáÊ åkáº èUáÇåcán áÑ CáÏáXåÃáºáB åkáº

èTáoå\á® áÑ

how many mistakes You have prevented,

how many blessings You have spread,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

CáÏáXå¿á¿á¶ åkáº èAÞáQ ãUá»åÃác áÑ

and how many series of afflictions You have separated.

BækáÂáÑ áÙ áäÑ æUáRãcCá{ åmãháäXáÖ åÈáÂ ÕãmáäÂB

All Praise is for Alláh who has not taken a wife nor a son,

who has no partner in His Kingdom,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

Bæoå×ãRå¿áW âÍåoãäRá¾ áÑ ãäÁâämÂB áÌãäÆ çäØãÂáÑ

âÐáäÂ åÌâ¿áäÖ åÈáÂ áÑ

who has no friend to protect Him from humiliation, so magnify Him with a

great Magnificence.

All Praise is for Alláh for all His praiseworthy acts,

for all His favours and blessings.

All Praise is for Alláh who has no opposition in His Kingdom,

nor any challenge to His command.

All Praise is for Alláh who has no partner in creation,

nor anyone like Him in His Greatness.

All Praise is for Alláh, His commands operate over His creation,

and his Praise is evident through His Generosity,

whose bestowal stretches out liberally.

His treasures never decrease,

(rather) the frequency of His Giving increases His Generosity and

Kindness.

Surely He is the Mighty, the Bestower.

O Alláh I ask You a little from much,

although I am in great need of it,

while You are eternally needless of it,

though it is a lot for me,while it is easy and simple for You.

O Alláh, indeed Your forgiveness of my sinsand Your overlooking my faults,

åÌá® áÀádå·á{ áÑ

Your pardoning my oppression,Your hiding my ugly deeds,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

ØãÆåoâ_ ãoå×ã\á¾ åÌá® áÀáÇåÃãc áÑ

and Your forbearing my many wrongs,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

ÕãkåÇá® áÑ ÕãCá§ág åÌãÆ áÉCá¾ CáÆ ákåËã®

done intentionally or unintentionally,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

áÀåËãÆ âÐâRã_åÒáXåsáB áÙ CáÆ áÀâÃáNåsáB

åÉáB Øã¶ ØãËá¯áÇå¦áB

tempted me to ask from You what I did not deserve from You,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

áÀãXáÇåcáän åÌãÆ ØãËáXåºápán ÕãmáäÂB

which You (still) gave me out of Your Mercy,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

áÀãXáQCá_ãB åÌãÆ ØãËáXå¶áäoá® áÑ áÀãWánåkâº åÌãÆ ØãËáXåÖánáB áÑ

provided me by Your Power,and made known to me from Your answers.

CætãÊåGáXåtâÆ áÀâÃáNåsáB áÑ CæËãÆD

á½åÒâ®åjáB âVåoã|á¶

So I became habituated to call You trustingly

and ask You familiarly,

neither fearing nor scared,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

áÀå×áÂãB ãÐå×ã¶ âVåká|áº CáÇå×ã¶ áÀå×áÃá®

but with confidence in You for what I intended.


Du`á al-Iftitá<

áÀå×áÃá® ØãÃåÏá`ãQ âYåRáXá® ØãäËá®

Gá§åQáB åÉãCá¶

Then if there was a delay (in Your answer), I would blame You, due to

my ignorance,

ãnåÒâÆâÛB ãUáRãºCá¯ãQ áÀãÇåÃã¯ãÂ ØãäÂ çoå×ág

áÒâÎ ØãäËá® Gá§åQáB ÕãmáäÂB áäÄá¯áÂ áÑ

and perhaps the delay was best for me, for You know the outcome of all affairs.

áäØáÃá® áÀåËãäÆ èÈå×ãNáäÂ èkåRá® ÔÃá® áoáRå{áB

CæÇåÖãoá¾ ÔæÂåÒáÆ ánáB åÈáÃá¶

I have not seen a more generous master patient with a wretched slave, than You

are with me.

áÀåËá® ØãäÂáÑâCá¶ ØãÊåÒâ®åkáW áÀáäÊãB

ØãäQán CáÖ

My Lord, You call me and I turn away from You,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

áÀå×áÂãB â¤áä³áRáWáB áÑ áäØáÂãB

âSáäRádáXáW áÑ

You show affection to me and I show hatred towards You,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

áÀå×áÃá® áÁâäÒá§áäXÂB áØãÂ áäÉáCá¾ áÀåËãÆ

âÄáRåºáB áÚá¶ áäØáÂãB âjáäjáÒáXáW áÑ

You display Your love for me and I do not respond, as though I am above You.

áäØáÂãB ãÉCátåcãÛåB áÑ ØãÂ ãUáÇåcáäoÂB áÌãÆ

áÀãÂBál áÀå¯áËåÇáÖ åÈáÃá¶

But this does not prevent You from having mercy on me, being good to me,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

áÀãÆáoá¾ áÑ á½ãjåÒâ`ãQ áäØáÃá®

ãÄâä£á·áäXÂB áÑ

and favouring me, through Your Generosity and Nobility.


Du`á al-Iftitá<

áÀãÊCátåcãB ãÄå£á·ãQ ãÐå×áÃá® åkâ_ áÑ áÄãÎCá`åÂB

á½ákåRá® åÈácånCá¶

So please (continue to) have mercy on your ignorant slave, and be kind to him through

the excellence of Your Grace.

çÈåÖãoá¾ çjBáÒá_ áÀáäÊãB

Surely You are the Bountiful, the Generous.


Du`á al-Iftitá<

ãÀåÃâ·åÂB Õãoå`âÆ ãÀåÃâÇåÂB ãÀãÂCáÆ ãÐäÃãÂ âkåÇádåÂáB

All Praise is for Alláh, the Owner of the Kingdom, who makes the ships sail,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

ãbCáRå{ãÛåB ã¼ãÂCá¶ ãbCáÖãäoÂB ãoãähátâÆ

controls the wind,causes the dawn to break,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

áÌå×ãÇáÂCá¯åÂB ãäPán ãÌåÖãäkÂB ãÉCáäÖáj

is the authority on the Day of Judgement,

(and) is the Lord of the worlds.

ãÐãÇåÃã® ákå¯áQ ãÐãÇåÃãc ÔÃá® ãÐäÃãÂ âkåÇádåÂáB

All Praise is for Alláhfor His patience despite His knowledge.

All Praise is for Alláhfor His forgiveness despite His power.

All Praise is for Alláhfor the lengthy respite He gives despite

His anger,

though He has the power to do as He wills.

All Praise is for Alláhthe creator of all creation,

the provider of plentiful sustenance,the cleaver of the dawn,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

ãÁáÚá`åÂB Óãl

possessor of Glory and Honor,and Excellence and Blessings,

ÕãmáäÂB

who is far and thus cannot be seen, but is close and thus witnesses secret

conversations.

Blessed and Exalted be His name.

All Praise is for Alláhwho has no equal who argues with Him,

âÍâkã¢Cá¯âäÖ çoå×ãÏáª áÙ áÑ âÐâÃã¾CáxâäÖ çÐå×ãRáw áÙ áÑ

nor anyone similar to Him,nor any Helper to support Him.

He overpowers the mighty by His strength,and the great humble themselves before His

greatness.

He accomplishes what He wishes through His power.

All Praise is for Alláhwho answers me when I call Him,

covers all my faults yet I disobey Him,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

ãÐåÖãpCá_âB áÚá¶ áäØáÃá® áUáÇå¯ãäËÂB

âÈãä«á¯âÖ áÑ

increases His bounties on mebut I do not acknowledge them.

åÌãÆ åÈá¿á¶

How many pleasant gifts He has given me,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

ØãÊBánáB åkáº èUá»ãÊåÒâäÆ èUá`åÏáQ áÑ ØãÊCá·á¾ åkáº

èUá¶åÒâháäÆ èUáÇå×ã«á® áÑ

how many great fears He has removed, andhow many delightful joys He has shown me.


Du`á al-Iftitá<

CædãäRátâÆ âÍâoâ¾åláB áäÑ BækãÆCác

ãÐå×áÃá® ØãËå[âCá¶

Thus I glorify Him, thanking Himand I remember Him with praise.


Du`á al-Iftitá<

âÐâQCáQ â¼áÃå³âÖ áÙ áÑ âÐâQCá`ãc âÀáXåÏâÖ áÙ

ÕãmáäÂB ãÐäÃãÂ âkåÇádåÂáB

All praise is for Alláh, whose curtains cannot be opened, whose doors cannot be locked,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

âÐâÃãÆD âSáä×áhâÖ áÙ áÑ âÐâÃãMCás âäjáoâÖ áÙ áÑ

who does not reject the one who asks Him,

and who does not disappoint the one who places hope in Him.


Du`á al-Iftitá<

áÌå×ã·ãMEáhåÂB âÌãÆåKâÖ ÕãmáäÂB ãÐäÃãÂ

âkåÇádåÂáB

All Praise is for Alláh,who provides safety for the frightened,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

áÌå×ã·á¯å£áXåtâÇåÂB â°á¶åoáÖ áÑ áÌå×ãdãÂCáä|

ÂB Øãä`áËâÖ áÑ

rescues the virtuous, raises the oppressed,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

Cæ¾åÒâÃâÆ âÀãÃåÏâÖ áÑ áÌåÖãoãRå¿áXåtâÇåÂB

â°á£áÖ áÑ

humiliates the proud, destroys kings,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

áÌåÖãoágD â¸ãÃåháXåtáÖ áÑ

and replaces them with others.


Du`á al-Iftitá<

áÌåÖãnCáäRá`åÂB ãÈã{Cáº ãÐäÃãÂ âkåÇádåÂB áÑ

All Praise is for Alláh, who crushes the tyrants,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

áÌå×ãQãnCáÏåÂB ã½ãnåkâÆ áÌå×ãÇãÂCáä«ÂB

ãoå×ãRâÆ

annihilates the oppressors,watches over the runaways,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

áÌå×ãgãoå|áXåtâÇåÂB ãiåÖãoá{ áÌå×ãÇãÂCáä«Â

B ãÁCá¿áÊ

punishes the oppressors,assists those who cry for help,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

áÌå×ãËãÆåKâÇåÂB ãkáÇáXå¯âÆ

áÌå×ãRãÂCáä§ÂB ãVCá_Các ã°ã¢åÒáÆ

grants the requests of the beseechers,and is the confidence of the believers.

CáÏâÊCáä¿âs áÑ âAEáÇáätÂB âká®åoáW ãÐãXá×åxág åÌãÆ

ÕãmáäÂB ãÐäÃãÂ âkåÇádåÂáB

All praise is for Alláh in whose awe the skies and its inhabitants shake,

CáÎânCáäÇâ® áÑ â¡ånáÛåB â¸â_åoáW áÑ

the earth and its inhabitants tremble,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

CáÏãWBáoáÇá² Øã¶ âeáRåtáÖ åÌáÆ áÑ

ânCádãRåÂB â^åÒâÇáW áÑ

the sea and all that swims in it billow.


Du`á al-Iftitá<

BámÏãÂ CáÊBákáÎ ÕãmáäÂB ãÐäÃãÂ

âkåÇádåÂáB

All praise is for Alláh who guided us to this


Du`á al-Iftitá<

âÐäÃÂB CáÊBákáÎ åÉáB áÙ åÒáÂ áÕãkáXåÏáËãÂ

and we would not have been guidedhad Alláh not guided us to this.

å¼áÃåhâÖ åÈáÂ áÑ â¼âÃåháÖ ÕãmáäÂB ãÐäÃãÂ âkåÇádåÂáB

All Praise is for Alláhwho creates but is not created,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

âÈá¯å§âÖ áÙ áÑ âÈã¯å§âÖ áÑ â¹ápåoâÖ áÙ áÑ

â¹âpåoáÖ áÑ

gives sustenance but is not given sustenance, feeds but is not fed


Du`á al-Iftitá<

ÔWåÒáÇåÂB Øã×ådâÖ áÑ áAEá×åcáÛåB âYå×ãÇâÖ

áÑ

causes the living to die,and gives life to the dead.


Du`á al-Iftitá<

âoå×áhåÂB ãÍãká×ãQ âVåÒâÇáÖ áäÙ çäØác

áÒâÎ áÑ

He is Ever-Living and does not die,(and) in His control is all good,


Du`á al-Iftitá<

çoåÖãkáº èAåØáw ãäÄâ¾ ÔÃá® áÒâÎ áÑ

and He has power over all things.

O Alláh send Your Blessings on Mu<ammad,

Your servant, Your Messenger,

Your trustee, Your chosen One, Your beloved,

the most superior, elegant, handsome, perfect, upright,

prosperous, pleasant, holy and sublime,

more than what You have blessed, given, had mercy,

sympathised and greeted, anyone from Your servants, Your Prophets,

áÀã»åÃág åÌãÆ áÀå×áÃá® ãUáÆBáoá¿åÂB ãÄåÎáB áÑ áÀãWáÒå·ã{ áÑ áÀãÃâsân

Your Messengers, Your chosen ones and the honorable ones from Your creation.

O Alláh, and send Your blessings on `Alí,

the commander of the faithful,

and the successor of the Messenger of the Lord of the worlds.

Establish for him his religion which You have approved for him.
