• Fine surface
• All purpose

• Lightweight
Note: The filler you select will depend on the type of surface you are
working on and the defects you are dealing with.

Tools for surface preparation
Filling knives/blades:
• Come in various shapes and sizes from 25mm to 200mm
• Flexible blades to push the filler into a hole or gap
Note: Never use a filling knife as a scraper – you may damage the blade.

Broad knives:
• Come in various sizes
• Wider than filling knives
• Ideal for covering a large area quickly
Note: Never use a scraper or filling knife to open a tin of paint – you
may bend the blade.

Maintainance and storage of tools
It is very important to look after your tools:
• Wipe blades clean straight after use
•Wipe the blade over with light oil if storing for a long period, to avoid rust
•Store in a dry environment
Tip: If you need to borrow a tool from someone else, always ask first and return
it clean or you may find yourself very unpopular with your workmates.
