onto them– you will receive statements so you have a record of your

transactions (if you make no transactions during a statement period you won’t receive a statement)

Westpac Express – a great way to send money overseas

Westpac Express is very simple to use. You receive two cards – one you keep here in New Zealand to load or deposit money onto, and the other card is sent to a nominated family member or friend overseas to access the money.

With competitive exchange rates and low fees, you can load money onto the card through in-branch deposits, online banking or phone banking. Once you have loaded money onto the card it will usually be accessible the next day for the person with the other card to withdraw.

The money can be accessed by the nominated family member or friend using their card at overseas ATMs if they want to withdraw cash. Or they can use the card to buy things wherever Visa is accepted. The best place to withdraw cash is from Westpac, or Global Alliance ATMs, as fees may be charged when another bank’s ATM is used. Details about the ATM Global Alliance are on page 8.
