parcel of vines on the slopes south of Beaune• Plot: exposed south and east• Soil: marl and limestone with a little sand

• One of the best-known vineyards of this generation.
• Plot: 1.6 acres in the prime sector, well-drained, exposed south and east
• Soil: brown soil on classic Jurassic limestone
• Pruning: Guyot simple• Vine age: 30 years average• No weed killers, plowing to
control undergrowth
Wine #2: 2005 Domaine Potinet-Ampeau Volnay 1er Cru 'Clos des Chenes'• Policy to age wines correctly
before release• Grape: Pinot Noir• Vinification: Traditional• 20% new oak barrels, gentle
toast • 1 racking before bottling• Bottled after 18 months• Bottling with light filtration

• Côte de Beaune Village• Producing the most
powerful red wines in the region
• Wines from here will be darker in color and deeper in flavor than neighboring Volnay
• Rich and savory after 10 years of aging
