Prelim Task

Final Cut

The first row is from my prelim task and the second row is from my final opening sequence, this screen grabs demonstrate shot reverse shot. I feel

like my technical skills have improved here as in the prelim task there was quite a long pause from the different shots which I learnt from so I did not do it in the final cut. Shot reverse shot is a typical technique used when there is a

conversation between people, in the prelim task we did an over the

shoulder shot and in the final cut we were more close up onto their faces

from a lower angle.

Prelim Task Final Cut

In these two screen grabs from my prelim task and final cut I have demonstrated the 180 degree rule, I now have better knowledge and

understanding of the 180 degree rule and the purpose of it, which is to make it as if the actors are directly looking at each other to make it more realistic. From the prelim task we had to take a couple of clips to get the

180 degree line on point, I had no difficulty with that when we were filming for our final cut as I knew what to do.

Prelim Task Final Cut

This shows my editing skills from the prelim task to the final cut. From the prelim task I learnt about match on action, I did not have any knowledge on how to add effects and sound onto the shots, over the course I have learnt

about adding effects and sounds which I did for my final cut, mainly from the help of my group telling me how to do it.

Page 4: Prelim

Overall I have learnt a lot from my knowledge from the prelim task to my final cut, in the prelim task we did not use any effects or transitions as we were not aware and confident of using them, in our final cut we used a lot of editing like using effects, adding

texts, using transitions and music, I did not have knowledge about adding music onto our prelim task and how to do it without using copy right, but from our final cut I now know a lot about adding sound , from finding them to layering them. We did not do any

continuity in our final cut as we did not need it since our opening was a montage did is the same as match on action, both of which

we had shown in the prelim task. I feel like practising over the course has made my technical and creative skills developed since

the prelim task.
