Precision and passion

The OKU brand represents quality and effectiveness. Since 1957, everything we do has revolved around automation technologies, both current and future. Tailor-made systems, optimal process integration and comprehensive service ensure precision in production processes. Integration services are only part of the equation. With us, assembly solutions and the feeding technology to go with them are all from one company and single source. Everything is "made in Germany" and ideally matched. It is more than a matter of chance that OKU has become one of the best known and most experienced manufacturers in automation. Over 6,000 high- performance machines are in use worldwide. The spectrum of industries using them range from metal and plastics to electronics and automotive.

OKU – 120 professionals (including 30 employees in the design department) with invalu-able technical expertise and a great passion for technology.

Systems from 2 to 240 parts per minute

OKU is known as a pioneer of automatic cam-controlled assembly. But we can do more: our linear and torque motors ensure reduced index times and increased process times, as well as variability in the number of stations and the positioning of workpiece fixtures. This enables flexible, yet equally complex, assembly processes, which are tailored to customers' needs. Whether your needs are a standard or a customized installation – all systems have high efficiency, short cycle times and durability. Thanks to the mechanically controlled processes, very high repeatability is achieved with low maintenance. From 2 to 240 pieces per minute: OKU has the perfect system.

OKU // Geometry

Tailor-made assembly lines

The selection of suitable assembly technology is determined by the product size, geometry, properties, cycle time and specific processes to be integrated, along with other customer needs. Whether rotary, linear or free running – we design a tailor-made assembly line from the different standard machine versions, while ensuring that we comply with all customer requirements and existing production interfaces.

The product needs determine the geometry

RotaryThis automation variant scores

highly thanks to its compact design and low

moving mass.

The required feeding technology is positioned

radially around the machine. This ensures easy

access to workstations. High cycle rates can also

be achieved.

LinearThis machine type can be loaded from one side.

The advantages are immediate operator access to

the feeding technology and high cycle rates.

Powered and free Manual workstations, for example, can

be integrated into the assembly flow when needed

in this flexible system. Adding workstations

at a later stage is easy to accomplish. Moreover,

the parallel assembly of time-intensive

production processes presents no difficulty.

Defining and optimally combining

We excel at building standard rotary and linear mechanically or electrically driven systems; this is clear. However, the best results for our customers demand we combine different technologies for specific tasks, and customize these standards to the final solution. These technologies come in the form of cams, servos or robots, all of which offer the highest degree of energy efficiency. Air consumption is minimized, as only minor motions are performed pneumatically. As well, different from pneumatically driven systems, these technologies require no end of stroke sensing, ensuring little working time is lost and uptime is maximized.

An ideal combination of process and product

In the quest for the best assembly solution, the integration and combination of a wide range of process technologies play a crucial role. OKU focuses on finding the ideal match between the product to be assembled and the process to be integrated in order to achieve the highest possible production yield and quality standards.

Modular power pack

A central drive with independent cam operations for each station is the basis of this modular machine. Thanks to the high degree of standardization, the design work focuses on the customer's specific requirements with a minimum amount of customization.

OKUMAT

LeanCell

Technical profile:>> basic machine, available with 8, 12, 16 and 24 stations

>> cycle rate of 15 to 120 cycles per minute

>> multi-track feeding of parts to be assembled

>> also available as a basic machine for production facilities

Versatile universal genius

This type of machine has a mechanical base unit for synchronizing index and station operations. The indexing table can also be moved using an electric drive. The LeanCell scores points with its compact design and wide range of applications – including for assembling small parts and integrating the corresponding processes.

Technical profile:>> basic design with 8, 12 and 16 stations

>> square footprint

>> also available with torque drive for the indexing table

(reduction of indexing times).

>> cycle rate of 15 to 120 cycles per minute.

Small and inexpensive

MicroCell comes into play for small part counts. This system is compact in design and cost-effective. It uses standardized components like those of the "large" OKUMAT and LeanCell type machines. Depending on the job to be done, all technologies (cam motions, servo technology, pneumatics) can be used for performing assembly operations.

MicroCell

ServoCell

Technical profile:>> a maximum of three individual parts can be assembled

>> space requirement from approximately one square meter of floor area

Fast and flexible

The ServoCell is ideal for assembly tasks that require complex and highly dynamic motion sequences. The system is particularly suited to producing different product variants with very short changeover times.

Technical profile:>> Performance of asynchronous assembly operations

>> Use of servo technology in the form of linear motors and

torque drives

>> Positioning accuracy is achieved by using high-resolution

encoder systems
