Container Handling

For plastic containers less than or equal to 5 gallons:Nonrefillable container. Do not reuse or refill this container. Triple rinse container (or equivalent) promptly after emptying . Triple rinse as follows: Empty the remaining contents into application equipment or a mix tank and drain for 10 seconds after the flow begins to drip. Fill the container 1/4 full with water and recap . Shake for 10 seconds . Pour rinsate into application equipment or a mix tank or store rinsate for later use or disposal. Drain for 10 seconds after the flow begins to drip. Repeat this procedure two more times . Then offer for recycling if available, or puncture and dispose of in a sanitary landfill or by incineration.

PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENTS

It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. For any requirements specific to your State or Tribe, consult the State or Tribal agency responsible for pesticide regulation. Do not apply this product in a way that will contact workers or other persons, either directly or through drift. Only protected handlers may be in the area during application.

AGRICULTURAL USE REQUIREMENTSUse this product only in accordance with its labeling and with the Worker Protection Standard, 40 CFR Part 170. This Standard contains requirements for the protection of agricultural workers on farms, forests, nurseries, and greenhouses, and handlers of agricultural pesticides. It contains requirements for training, decontamination, notification, and emergency assistance. It also contains specific instructions and exceptions pertaining to the statements on this label about personal protective equipment (PPE) and restricted-entry interval. The re-quirements in this box only apply to uses of this product that are covered by the Worker Protection Standard.

Do not enter or allow worker entry into treated areas during the restricted-entry interval (REI) of 12 hours.

PPE required for early entry to treated areas (that is permitted under the Worker Protection Standard and that involves contact with anything that has been treated, such as plants, soil or water) is:• Coveralls• Waterproof gloves• Shoes plus socks• Protective eyewear

Product Information:Spear-T Liquid Concentrate is a biological insecticide containing the active ingredient GS-omega/kappa- Hxtx-Hv1a for use on ornamental plants, turf and edible crops against thrips, two-spotted spider mites, whiteflies, and broad mites. Spear-T Liquid Concentrate functions primarily as a central nervous system inhibitor of target pests infesting labeled crops. Spear-T Liquid Concentrate is mixed with water and applied as a foliar spray (with ground equipment equipped for conventional insecticide spraying).

Spear-T Liquid Concentrate is designed for greenhouse use.

Use Instructions:Spear-T Liquid Concentrate is a highly selective insecticide for use against the listed insect pest. Close scouting and early attention to infestations is highly recommended. Proper timing of application targeting newly hatched larvae is important for optimal results. Spear-T Liquid Concentrate is not effective on the egg stage.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Thorough coverage of infested plant parts is necessary. Spear-T Liquid Concentrate does not have systemic activity.

Repeat applications at 3-10 day intervals depending upon plant growth rate, insect activity, and other factors.

Tank mix with contact insecticides/miticides to enhance performance. Refer to tank mix section.

For hard-to-wet crops, consider using a spreader/sticker or an adjuvant that has been approved for targeted crop use to enhance the adhesion of Spear-T Liquid Concentrate to the crop. Examples of appropriate spreader/stickers or adjuvants are: 1) vegetable oils and 2) crop oils.

Spear-T Liquid Concentrate has been evaluated for phytotoxicity on a variety of crops under various normal growing conditions. However, testing all crop varieties in all mixtures and combinations is not feasible. Prior to treating entire crop, test a small portion of the crop for sensitivity.

Integrated Pest Management (IPM):Spear-T Liquid Concentrate is an important tool in sound insect management whenever insecticide use is necessary. Apply Spear-T Liquid Concentrate alone or in combination and/or rotation with chemical insecticides. This will result in reduced susceptibility to insect damage and overall reduction in the use of chemical insecticides. Consult local agricultural authorities for specific IPM strategies developed for your crop(s) and location.

Preharvest interval – agricultural use:Spear-T Liquid Concentrate can be applied up to and including the day of harvest.

Application Instructions:Do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system.

Greenhouse Use Directions: Make applications with high pressure, low volume or ultra-low volume (thermal and non-thermal foggers) misters, aerosol generators or hydraulic boom sprayers delivering 40 gallons per acre or less volume. Smaller droplet sizes are most effective. Spear-T Liquid Concentrate is a contact kill material so direct contact with the pest is essential for optimum performance. Mix 1 part (e.g. 1 quart (1 liter)) of Spear-T Liquid Concentrate (2.0% active ingredient) with 3 parts (e.g. 3 quarts (3 liters) of water to make 4 quarts (4 liters) of 0.5% active ingredient spray solution. Apply 1 quart (1 liter) of spray solution per 1000 square feet of greenhouse bench space. Spray until wet (glisten), not run-off. Turn off exhaust fans and close vents during application. Begin applications when pests reach threshold levels.

Tank Mixing:Do not combine Spear-T Liquid Concentrate in the spray tank with other pesticides, surfactants, adjuvants, or fertilizers if there has been no previous experience or use of the combination to show it is physically compatible, effective, and non-injurious under your use conditions. Follow the most restrictive of the labeling limitations and precautions of all products used in mixtures.

Spear-T Liquid Concentrate is not compatible with strong oxidizers, such as chlorine, that can degrade the product. To ensure compatibility of tank-mix combinations, they must be evaluated prior to use. To determine the physical compatibility of this product with other products, use a jar test. Using a quart jar, add the proportionate amounts of the products to one quart of water with agitation. Add dry formulations first, then flowables, then emulsifiable concentrates last. After thoroughly mixing, let this mixture stand for 5 minutes. If the combination remains mixed or can be readily remixed, it is physically compatible. Once compatibility has been proven, use the same proce-dure for adding required ingredients to the spray tank.

Turn the container over onto its other end and tip it back and forth several times. Empty the rinsate into application equipment or a mix tank or store rinsate for later use or disposal. Repeat this procedure two more times. Then offer for recycling if available, or puncture and dispose of in a sanitary landfill or by incineration.

Información del producto:El Concentrado Líquido Spear-T es un insecticida biológico que contiene el ingrediente activo GS-omega/kappa- Hxtx-Hv1a para uso en plantas ornamentales, cultivos de césped y comestibles contra tisanópteros, ácaros de dos puntos, moscas blancas y ácaros blancos. El Concentrado Líquido Spear-T funciona principalmente como un inhibidor del sistema nervioso central de las plagas objetivo que infestan los cultivos etiquetados. El Concentrado Líquido Spear-T se mezcla con agua y se aplica como aerosol foliar (con equipo terrestre equipado para la pulverización de insecticida convencional).

Repita las aplicaciones en intervalos de 3-10 días, dependiendo de la tasa de crecimiento vegetal, actividad de los insectos y otros factores.

Manejo integrado de plagas (MIP):El Concentrado Líquido Spear-T es una herramienta importante en el sano manejo de insectos siempre que se necesite utilizar insecticida. Aplique el Concentrado Líquido Spear-T solo o en combinación y/o rotación con insecticidas químicos. Esto dará como resultado una vulnerabilidad reducida al daño por insectos y una reducción general en el uso de insecticidas químicos. Instrucciones de aplicación:No aplique este producto por medio de cualquier tipo de sistema de riego.

Indicaciones de uso en invernaderos: Realice aplicaciones con (nebulizadores térmicos y no térmicos) atomizadores, generadores de aerosol o pulverizadores de presión hidráulicos de alta presión, bajo volumen o volumen ultra bajo que distribuyan 40 galones por acre o menos volumen. Los tamaños de gota más pequeños son más efectivos. El Concentrado Líquido Spear-T es un material que mata con el contacto, por lo tanto el contacto directo con la plaga es esencial para el rendimiento óptimo. Mezcle 1 parte (por ejemplo 1 cuarto de galón (1 litro)) del Concentrado Líquido Spear-T (2.0 % ingrediente activo) con 3 partes (por ejemplo 3 cuartos de galón (3 litros) de agua para hacer 4 cuartos de galón (4 litros) de solución de aerosol con 0.5 % de ingrediente activo. Aplique 1 cuarto de galón (1 litro) de solución de aerosol por 1000 pies cuadrados de espacio de invernadero. Pulverice hasta que esté húmedo (brillando), no escurrir. Apague los extractores y cierre las ventilaciones durante la aplicación. Comience las aplicaciones cuando las plagas alcancen los niveles de umbral.

Mezcla en tanque:No combine el Concentrado Líquido Spear-T en el tanque de pulverización con otros pesticidas, tensioactivos, adyuvantes o fertilizantes si no ha habido experiencia o uso previos de la combinación para demostrar que es físicamente compatible, eficaz o

no perjudicial según sus condiciones de uso. Siga las limitaciones y precauciones más restrictivas del etiquetado de todos los productos utilizados en mezclas.

El Concentrado Líquido Spear-T no es compatible con oxidantes fuertes, como el cloro, que pueden degradar el producto. Para asegurar la compatibilidad de las combi-naciones de mezcla de tanque, se deben evaluar antes del uso. Para determinar la compatibilidad física de este producto con otros productos, utilice una prueba de frasco. Utilice un frasco de un cuarto de galón, agregue las cantidades proporcionales de los productos para un cuarto de galón de agua con agitación. Agregue las formulaciones secas primero, luego los fluidos y por último los concentrados emul-sionables. Luego de mezclar completamente, deje que la mezcla repose por 5 minutos. Si la combinación permanece mezclada o se puede remezclar fácilmente, es físicamente compatible. Una vez que se haya comprobado la compatibilidad, utilice el mismo procedimiento para agregar los ingredientes requeridos al tanque de pulverización.

No contaminar agua, alimentos o pienso mediante el almacenamiento o desecho.

Almacenamiento del pesticida:Almacenar en el contenedor original a temperatura ambiente. No permita que el producto se congele. Mantenga el contenedor cerrado y protegido de la humedad mientras no está en uso.

Desecho del pesticida:Para evitar desperdicios, utilice todo el material de este contenedor mediante la aplicación según las instrucciones de la etiqueta. Si no se pueden evitar los desperdicios, ofrezca el remanente del producto a una instalación para disposición de desechos o programa de desecho de pesticidas (a menudo dichos programas son gestionados por los gobiernos locales o estatales o por la industria).

Manipulación del contenedor:Para contenedores de plástico de 5 galones o menos:Contenedor no recargable. No reutilizar o recargar este contenedor. Enjuagar tres veces el contenedor (o equivalente) inmediatamente después de vaciarlo. Enjuague tres veces de la siguiente manera: Verter los contenidos remanentes en el equipo de aplicación o en un tanque de mezcla y drenar durante 10 segundos después de que el flujo comience a gotear. Llenar ¼ del contenedor con agua y volver a tapar. Agitar durante 10 segundos. Verter el enjuague en el equipo de aplicación o en un tanque de mezcla o almacenar el enjuague para uso o desecho posterior. Drenar durante 10 segundos luego de que el flujo comience a gotear. Repetir este procedimiento dos veces más. Luego ofrecer para reciclaje si hubiera disponible, o perforar y desechar en un vertedero sanitario o mediante incineración.

Para contenedores de plástico mayores de 5 galones:Contenedor no recargable. No reutilizar o recargar este contenedor. Enjuagar tres veces el contenedor (o equivalente) inmediatamente después de vaciarlo. Enjuague tres veces de la siguiente manera: Verter los contenidos remanentes en el equipo de aplicación o un tanque de mezcla. Llenar ¼ del contenedor con agua. Volver a poner la tapa y ajustarla. Inclinar el contenedor sobre su lado y rodarlo de atrás a adelante, asegurándose de que se complete al menos una revolución, durante 30 segundos. Parar el contenedor sobre un extremo e inclinarlo de atrás a adelante varias veces. Rotar el contenedor sobre su otro extremo e inclinarlo de atrás a adelante varias veces. Verter el enjuague en un equipo de aplicación o tanque de mezcla o almacenar el enjuague para uso o desecho posterior. Repetir este procedimiento dos veces más. Luego ofrecer para reciclaje si hubiera disponible, o perforar y desechar en un vertedero sanitario o mediante incineración.
