Precaution For EarthquakeIt is always important to stay alert:

• Before an earthquake• During an earthquake• After an earthquake

It will reduce some chances of injuries, damages, and loss caused by earthquakes.


Before An Earthquake Install locks on cupboard doors. Use rough or non-skid cupboards. Store heavy items on the lower shelves. Create home, car and health insurance. Tie up the bulky items. Do not keep things at the place where it is shaky. Keep it

in a stable place. Keep an emergency kit having required material and

should also have a copies of important files and certificates. It should also have a cell phone to contact. Make sure you replace and maintain things.

Set up a safe area to work in. Prepare it with your families. Join/Participate in disaster training. Keep a fire extinguisher. Keep a radio for news and to stay informed.


During An Earthquake

The problem is that during an earthquake you may be anywhere like…..

1. In the car or van2. On the Road3. Near the shore4. On the train or bus5. At home6. Or any where else

This might be dangerous. We should know what to do during an earthquake.



1. In the car or van

Reduce the speed of the car gradually and park to a open and safer side, then shut off the engine.

Switch on the radio for news and stay informed.



2. On the road

Quickly cover your head soon or go to an open area you find.

Do not stand close to buildings, walls, tress or rods which might fall.

If there is no open space then cover your head and try to be careful of buildings.



3. Near the shore

Stay away from the shore as tsunami has created.



4. On the train or bus

Do not move or get out from the train or bus through windows or emergency exit.

Hold your seat tightly.



5. At home

If you are at home stay at home only. Do not move anywhere from your home. Rush and close the gas supply and electric supply

(if possible). Do not use or do work with flame during this time. Crawl under a heavy furniture or under the table. Make sure you have your emergency kit along

with it. Do not use elevator.


After An Earthquake Use your emergency kit. Do not waste your items in

the kit. Help to the person who requires your kit (Beware of rumors).

Check if any gas or water is leaking. If it is then report it to the authorities as soon as possible.

Turn on the radio for news and stay informed. Stay away from collapsed or broken houses and

damaged areas. Help people who needs help (Beware of rumors). Stay away from beaches. Check for the damaged electrical wiring. Wear your shoes. Go to the insurance company for help with some

proof by having photos of it, etc.
