2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.

You can teach people to play, not to love the game.

It is a crime to take the Gospel and make

it boring.

Learn from others but don’t copy them. God is not looking for a carbon copy.

When you copy, it makes you look

small in comparison.

Preaching about Christ produces Christians.

Note the emphasis in

Jesus’ preaching.

Luke 4:16He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read

Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” 20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down.

Isaiah 61 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. without using a parable.

Three benefits in using a good ilustration:

Easy to relate, remember, repeat.

Call.

Preach!

Preaching without a call, is

wasting your time.

Is like:

*Cooking and not serving the meal.

*Telling her you love her and not kissing her.

*Dating and never getting married.

*Studying and not graduating.

Be less concerned about your reputation if

nobody responds, than the people in church that day that need to

make a decision.

Humble.

Preach!

God.

Friends.

Evaluators.

Your job is to be faithful to God and his job is to

give you success.
