Current Procedures• Student helpers give talk on University life and

upcoming introductory events.

• Students receive a letter detailing their marks

• Failing students are informed they should contact their receiving academic units

• A spreadsheet of results is sent to academic units

• Reports and certificates sent out 2 weeks later

Current Problems• Students are missing out on important induction

events

• Lack of clarity re procedures for failing students

• Academic units lack information on how to interpret a student’s pre-sessional results

Solutions • Presentation to students by academic units towards

end of pre-sessional giving key information about course and what happens next

• Visit by students to academic units to familiarise themselves with the physical environment and meet staff

confirming acceptance. Academic contact meets students and makes terms of acceptance clear

• Failing students to meet academic contact on results day and advised of procedures. Pre-sessional coordinator to liaise with academic units over interpreting student results
