Pre-reg training 2018-19 Kamsons Pharmacy is a family-owned chain of 60 pharmacies. We have run our established pre-reg training programme for over ten years and will be recruiting around 20 pharmacy graduates this year with vacancies available at selected Kamsons Pharmacy branches in Sussex, London, Surrey, Luton, Leeds & Manchester to commence in Aug 18. Kamsons Pharmacy has the best GPhC exam pass rates of all training providers Since 2015, the GPhC has released the percentage of pre- reg pharmacists who have passed the summer registration exam for each large hospital or community training provider, Kamsons has topped the table for both years. How does Kamsons manage have the best pass rate in the UK? We do not concentrate on the exam but on our holistic training programme. We work closely with Health Education England to train our tutors and to provide some joint training for our pre-regs with hospital pre-regs. We offer cross-sector placements in GP surgeries and in hospital pharmacies to give our trainees a varied year. We were shortlisted with Health Education England for a joint Training Award for our pre-reg programme in the 2016 C&D Awards. We take pride in having a nurturing and caring environment. Our aim is to recruit candidates who will be good community pharmacists, not those who are just good at passing exams. What do our past pre-regs say? Our main focus is on ensuring that our pre- regs have a beneficial year. In an anonymous online survey of 70 ex-Kamsons pre-regs, 93% would recommend Kamsons Pharmacy to a student looking for a place. 90% said that their pre-reg year was extremely or very effective at preparing them to become a pharmacist. What happens after the pre-reg year? The vast majority of our ex-pre-regs continue to work in our pharmacies as locums, relief pharmacists or pharmacist managers. However, there is no obligation to work for us afterwards. Nearly half of our pharmacist managers are our ex-pre-regs and some have become prescribers and senior managers. GPhC June exam pass rate: Year: Kamsons All Pharmacies 2016 100% 95% 2015 100% 74%

Laura Allsobrook (pictured) graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a MPharm degree in 2015, undertook her pre-registration training with Kamsons Pharmacy in Eastbourne 2015-16 and qualified as a pharmacist in August 2016. She now manages a Kamsons Pharmacy in Sussex:

“The monthly training sessions were really interesting and helped us, not only with passing the exam, but also to be better pharmacists in terms of using the Drug Tariff, interacting with patients and thinking about ethical dilemmas. I enjoyed my placements in my local hospital and GP surgery too. It's great working within your pharmacy team but knowing there are 20 or so other pre-regs that are there for help, support and as friends is really comforting. I found it a great network this year, especially when revising for the exam as we were constantly messaging each other about revision. It is a family owned company which is small

enough to care but large enough to provide support and help should anything go wrong. I would strongly recommend that Kamsons be your first choice for pre-reg training.”
