1 Abstract Astrology is the oldest science, and is founded on the axiom that the energy of the life force (spirit, chi, prana, ka) motivates human behaviour, and changes with time (known as ‘zeitgeist’ ‘spirit of the time’) This changing motivation over the Great Ages of astrology can be used as a dating tool for the construction of monuments. Applying it to Egypt, I conclude that:a) The sphinx was built about 11.000 years ago (between 9,600BC and 8900BC), during the mutable phase of the age of Leo. 2 Developing a tool for dating the building of pre-historic monuments

The further back we go back in history, the more difficult it is to date the construction of monuments and buildings, because of the lack of historical records. Clay tablets and papyrus scrolls only go back some 5 millennia, to the time of the first dynasty in Egypt, around 3,000BC. Prior to then is known as ‘pre-history.’ Carbon dating is possible on organic material which was once living (such as bones, wood, food) and this is revealing that many towns were ‘prehistoric’ such as Hierakonpolis, in Egypt, and Golbekli Toply in Turkey, which are known to have been inhabited in 10,000BC. However, we have no means of dating when rock was cut and placed into structures.

For lack of other methods, the building date of the pyramids and temples in Egypt tend to be determined by the cartouches of Pharaohs and kings found carved on them. This is not reliable evidence, as they could have been added later, as graffiti. This paper attempts to create another method by using astrology. This is the oldest science, and for thousands of years has correlated the behaviour of people with the position of the planets.

The advent of computers has enabled scientists to determine the position of the planets at any time in the past. Prof Richard Tarnas, has done this for every significant historical event for several thousand years in his book: ‘Cosmos and Psyche’ (2005) and has found remarkably good correlations. His work is being continued by Kieron Legrice.

I have done a similar exercise, published in another paper of mine dated 1.3.09, called: ‘History Explained by Astrology’ (1) (paper 9.35 of www.reginaldkapp.org) In it I check whether the great ages of Taurus Aries Pisces, and Aquarius can be used as a dating tool, by correlating the known historical dates of major events over the last 6,000 years since 4,000BC with the cosmic energy pertaining at the time. I find that this does indeed give plausible explanations of why people were motivated to

do what they did then. This seems to prove that the tool works, so can be used as a time measuring stick.

In this paper, I use this time measuring stick to go back a further 6,000 years to 10,000BC, and use it to date buildings of unknown original building date, such as the pyramids, temples, rock art and rock tombs of Egypt. This paper states my conclusions.

3 Interpreting the energy of the time of the great ages.The sphinx (at Giza, near Cairo, Egypt) is a statue of a lion weighing about 30,000 tons. It seems obvious to any astrologer to postulate that it was built towards the end of the great age of Leo, between 9,600 and 9,000BC (ie is at least 11,000 years old) This date is confirmed by the obvious water erosion on its sides, which could only have been caused by a very swollen river Nile several hundred feet above its current level, caused by the thawing of the last ice age about 10,000 years ago, as observed by Schwaller de Lubicz. (3)

The Leo archetype symbolises power, and particularly rulership by an all-powerful king, who was worshipped as a deity. However, in the mutable phase, the polarity sign (Aquarius) dominates, representing power to the people. I postulate that the construction of the sphinx was a job creation scheme to keep the people ‘off the streets’ from revolting, by the state funding of an enormous construction project.

The same energy of revolt that prevailed 13,000 years ago could have occurred 236 years ago in 1775, at the beginning of the great Age of Aquarius, when the people of America (and 14 years later, France) revolted against domination by tyrannical kings.

This job creation scheme proved successful, and became a tool of subsequent rulers. Over subsequent millennia the technology developed, and ever more ambitious projects were accomplished, - pyramids, temples, rock art and tombs, as described later below.

According to this theory, the pyramids date to 7,500-6,800BC, during the mutable phase of the great age of Cancer, when the polarity sign (Capricorn) predominated. They were not built as burial chambers, although they were subsequently used for that purpose during the mutable phase of the great age of Taurus, when the polarity sign (Scorpio – death and transformation) prevailed, from 3,200-2,500BC. They were built to practice the art of building eternal monuments, which required the art of levitation of single blocks of stone each weighing up to 100 tons. These arts were used to construct the great temples, such as at the Sphinx, Karnak, and Dendera.

Similarly, what is known as ‘rock art’, adorning the surface of nearly every Egyptian temple, was created between 5,400-4,700BC, during the mutable phase of the great age of Gemini, during which the polarity sign (Sagittarrius – spirituality) predominated. At the end of that great age, hieroglyphic writing was invented.

4 What is the paradigm underlying astrology?The belief system (paradigm) underlying astrology is that all living creatures, including people, are caused to live by a life force. This belief is shared by every religion. The life force is called ‘spirit’ in Christianity, ‘prana’ in Sanscrit, ‘chi’ in Chinese medicine. In the

ancient Egyptian religion, the life force was called ‘ka’ and is represented by the ankh, shown in figure 1. This is the cross of earthly life, surmounted by the circle of eternity. It is almost the same as the symbol for Venus in astrology, and femininity.Modern science and information technology (eg mobile phones and the internet) confirms that action at a distance (wireless) is possible. I postulate that the life force emanates like radio waves of ‘music of the spheres’ from outer galactic space to animate life on earth. The planets act like mobile phone masts, relaying this life force. Our reception of it varies with the positions of the sun, moon and planets (hereafter collectively called the ‘planets’). For many millennia, the art and science of astrology has correlated these positions with human behaviour. These correlations span every civilisation, and every historical period, thereby forming a huge and robust evidence base of empirical data. This is further described in another papers of mine. (1).

The life force is like an embryo, egg, from which we all spring. It develops by dividing into two, and so on. The life force divides into yang and yin (male and female) The yang divides into the two elements fire and air, and the yin divides into the two elements water and earth. Each element is subject to the forces of the 3 modalities – cardinal (initiation) fixed (maintenance) and mutable (destruction, to make way for the new) The permutations of these energies create the 12 astrological archetypes, which alternate yang and yin, as shown in table 2 below.

The life force varies with the positions of the planets, which move in elliptical orbits (cycles) around the sun. When they are in aspect, they reinforce their energy. The cycle of the precession of the equinoxes is 26,000 years, and creates the Great Ages, of 2,145 years in each sign. Each Age has 3 phases, corresponding to the modalities (cardinal, fixed and mutable) each lasting 715 years. During the mutable phase, the polarity (opposite) sign tends to predominate. The reason for this is given in my earlier paper (1)

6 The life force ka.The ancient Egyptians recognised the life force by giving it a name (ka) a symbol (the ankh) and worshipping it. This is refreshing to see, since conventional medical science today is in denial of the existence of life force. Purporting to speak for the whole medical profession in a recent book, Prof Edzard Ernst (professor of complementary medicine at Exeter University) says: ‘there is no evidence whatsoever for a life force.’ (2) This is because the materialist, reductionist, mechanist paradigm cannot recognise life.

The ankh symbol for the life force is like a key - the key to life. It is often portrayed in Egyptian art as being carried by a god, and being given to someone of his choosing, such as a Pharaoh.

Figure 2 shows the ankh being carried by Horus, the falcon-headed god, who flies high and sees everything. (He may be the equivalent of the eagle, alias Scorpio archetype) In this picture he carries the sun god Ra on his head, whose rays are shining down onto someone. He carries the ankh in his right hand, which is the giving hand, as described below.

6 The left and right hemispheres of our brain and sides of our body

Neuro-physiological research shows that our brain is in two halves, known as hemispheres. The left half is the rational part, and the right half is the intuitive part. The left part is associated with yang, masculine, extrovert, and the right part with yin, feminine, introvert. The wiring crosses over at the neck, so that the left hemisphere connects to the right side of the body, and the right hemisphere

connects to the left side of the body .

Accordingly, the left side of our bodies is the feminine, receptive side, and the right side of our bodies is the male, giving side, as shown on figure 3, looking at the person’s back .

This makes it more comfortable for a woman to be to the left of a man, so that the female side of the man (left) is beside the male side (right) of the woman. This seems to be the most natural way round, and love seems to flow more easily that way.

Confirming this medical fact, weddings in church traditionally have the bride’s side on the left (facing the altar) and the groom’s side on the right. Wedding photos usually show the bride to the left side of the groom. as in figure 4, the wedding photograph. Couples in double beds usually sleep that way round .

This medical fact was also well known to the ancient Egyptians, who depict receiving offerings with 2 left hand(s), and giving offerings with 2 right hand(s) as shown in figures below.

The life force was worshipped in ancient Egypt. Figure 5 is a picture of the sun god Ra at the top, giving life to the ankh through 2 arms with left (receiving) hands. Two goddesses (Isis and her sister) are each giving worship to the ankh through their 2 right hands. (From the temple to Osiris at Abydos)

7 Dated pre-historic towns in EgyptThe earliest records of habitation that I can find dated by carbon dating of food and wood are about 10,000BC (great age of Leo):

a) In Egypt, from the pre-historic site known as Nabba Playa, 100 km west of Abu Simbel, which had a more favourable climate than now.

b) Golbekli Toply in Turkey.This proves that there were settlements of workers who could have been mobilised to work on large construction projects.

The following sections 8 to 13 are historical, and quotes the dates of the dynasties and Pharaohs of Egypt (4) together with the founding historical dates of other cultures in the Eastern Mediterranean. They are grouped with the phases of the Great Ages, to test the dating tool to see how well the dates correlate with the energies.

The 3 phases of each great age each last 715 years, and follow each other: cardinal, fixed, mutable. In the cardinal phase, the sign of the great age

predominates. In the mutable phase, the polarity sign predominates. The rational for this is given in the previous paper (1)

8 Cardinal phase of Taurus 4,600-3,900BC10 square km sites of the cities of Hierakonpolis (HK) including and Nekhen, which is a pre-historic site near Edfu (about half way between Aswan and Luxor) Finds known as ‘Badarian’ dated to 4,200BC at Kom (HK3 and HK64) This has been excavated by Dr Renee Friedman and her team for the last 25 years.

In Malta, this is the time of Grey Skorba (4,500-4,400BC) and Red Skorba (4,400-4,100BC)

9 Fixed phase of Taurus 3,900-3,200BCMany important finds carbon dated to 3,700BC were discovered at Naqada, such as at HK6, particularly tomb 16, and HK11 where a brewery has been found. There are many burial grounds at HK, including one with 58 animals, including an elephant, hippopotami, bulls, and dogs. It is thought that the Nile course moved at the end of this phase, causing the HK city to be abandoned. A mummified body called ‘Ginger’ was dated to 3,600BC.

In Crete, this was the time of building Knossos (3,000BC) In Malta, this was the time of the building of temples at Ggartija, (Gozo) Hafarqim, Mnajdra North and South (3,600-3,000BC)

Phonetic writing is thought to have been invented around 3,300BC.

10 Mutable phase of the Age of Taurus 3,230-2,515BCThe polarity sign of Taurus (Scorpio) predominates during this phase. Scorpio is fixed water. It is the 8th house, which represents death and the afterlife. In Egypt they practiced mummification and elaborate burials in tombs in the valleys of the Kings and Queens and workers, and in pyramids. The old ruler of Scorpio was Mars, and the new ruler is Pluto (king of the Underworld) since Pluto was discovered in 1930.

In Malta, this was the time of the building of the Saflieni Hypogeum tombs, near Valetta, the St Pauls catacombe near Mdina, and the Tarxien temple (3.000-2,500BC)

1st dynasty 3,000BC King Narmer (Menes) established Abydos as his capital, and united upper and lower Egypt. (4) King Aha founded the city of Memphis. This was the time in Mesopotamia of the cultures of Uruk, Mari, Lagash and Susa. In Palistine, Jericho

2nd dynasty 2,850BC capital Memphis under kings Hotepsekmemwy, Raneb, Ntetjer King Khasekhemul propclaims the cult of Horus.

3rd dynasty 2,770BC King Zosser, who identifies worship of Sun God Ra with the worship of the king, and assumes the power of the priest. Imhotep is the first great

architect, physician in history (later deified by the Greeks as Aesulapius. He constructed the stepped pyramid at Saqqara as mausoleum. Kings Sekhemkhet, Sanakhte, Khaba all built funerary complexes and pyramids for themselves.

4th dynasty 2,620BC King Snefu built the first smooth-faced pyramid. King Khufu (Cheops) built the first great pyramid, surrounded by city necropolises. 15 Can the building of Egyptian monuments be dated by cartouches? The dating of the building of Egyptian monuments has traditionally been based on the inscriptions (cartouches) of a king (or other dignitary) found carved on its walls. This indicates the latest build date, but not the actual build date. Kings are often buried in existing buildings (pyramids, temples etc) and commemorated with plaques. For example, King George Vth of Britain died in 1935. He was buried in Westminster Abbey in London and commemorated with a dated plaque. A visiting historian might conclude from this that the Abbey was built in 1935, but he would be wrong by 7 centuries. Some Egyptian kings took this to the extent of plagiarism. Rameses II reigned for 63 years from 1298-1235BC, and died at the age of 94. He was well known to be a plagiarist. On Luxor temple he had the cartouches of earlier Pharaohs removed, and his own cartouche substituted.

However, they missed one cartouche which was high up in an obscure corner of the temple. This was the one and only cartouche to be found of Tutankhamen, the boy king who died in 1345BC, 110 years before Rameses II. This one cartouche alerted Egyptologists to Tutankhamen’s existence, which led to the search for his tomb, and the finding of his treasure which is now on display in the Cairo museum.

Another example of the dating of buildings by cartouches is Dendera temple, which my wife and I visited in Oct 2010. Our guide told our party that it was all built in 230BC, because Ptolomy III’s cartouche is carved on one of the outside walls. When I expressed incredulity, he got angry with me. He told me not to doubt his word, because it might mislead others on the tour. This outburst at first surprised me, until I realised that he is paid to express the dogma according to the orthodox Egyptologists.

Ptolomy III is one of the 8 Greek kings (all called Ptolomy) who ruled for nearly 300 years after Alexander the Great conquered Egypt in

311BC. Eygypian archeological research probably receives funds from the European Union, which has a Greek-centred bias. The Greeks naturally believe that Greece is the cradle of European civilisation (which is true)

However, they do not want to admit that their ancestors inherited their culture from Egypt, particularly as the Greeks are white, and the Egyptians are dark. There is still a racist bias of whites as the superior race, and darkies as pagan savages. The political correctness is therefore to say that Dendera was built by Ptolomy III who was a Greek, and to deny that it could have been built before the Greeks arrived in Egypt.

Carpiceci (4) however states: ‘The origins of the temple, which was restored by the Ptolomies, and partially restored by the Romans, goes back to Khufu and Pepi I. ‘ Khufu was in the 4th dynasty (2,620BC), which is 2,300 years earlier than Ptolomy III. This is twice as old as our guide would have had us believe. However, we will see below that I believe that Dendera and other similar temples at Karnak and Edfu were built in the age of Cancer around 8,000 years ago, which is 4 times as old as the guide told us.

To establish more plausible build dates for the Egyptian monuments we have use better dating tools than cartouches, such as geology and astrology, as described below. Astrology looks at history through the lens of the astrological archetype pertaining at the Great Age, which motivates people to behave obsessionally in certain specific ways for 2 millenia, and then in other specific ways for another 2 millenia.

16 The Age of Leo – 11,000-8,900BCThe astrological sign Leo is of the element fire, which is a yang (masculine) element. Its mode is fixed (rather than cardinal or mutable). It is the sign of political power, such as kingship, and ruling over the people with leadership. The energy of Leo during the Age would have been to unite all the people into one kingdom, for example upper and lower Egypt for 1000 miles of the river Nile. The symbol for upper Egypt (south of Memphis – the old capital, some 20 km south of Cairo) is the

bee. The symbol for lower Egypt is the bullrush.

If the kings of Egypt during the Age of Leo had wanted to create a monument to themselves to show how powerful they were in commanding

their people, (as I believe they did) they could not have done better than to create a statue of

a lion which is the world’s largest statue, measuring 73 metres long, and 21 metres high.

It cannot be weighed, but it volume is about 10,000 cubic metres, which would weigh about 30,000 tons. The statue was created by removing the surrounding rock, to create space around the statue. This space is about 20 times the volume of the statue. To create the statue required the removal of about half a million tons of sandstone. This would have required the concerted effort of thousands of people with picks and shovels for decades. The nearest modern equivalent is the construction of the canals and railways in the 19th century.

The sphinx is situated on a sandstone ridge on the west bank of the flood plain of the Nile, facing the rising sun in the east. Both it and it’s associated temples in front of it bear horizontal erosion channels nearly 2 feet deep. These longitudinal channels are visible in pictures, such as David Robert’s drawings in the 19th century, and in modern photographs, such that shown in figure 8.

Geologists say that this erosion could only have been created by flood water pouring past. As the base of the monuments is at least 50 feet above the present level of the Nile, this erosion could only have been caused by huge floods. The evidence for this is described by John Anthony West (3)

The last time that this could have happened was after the last ice age, which finished about 10,000 years ago, with global climate warming and sea level rise, which gave rise to the Biblical story of Noah’s arc.

The two temples of the sphinx are in a line in front and to the south of it. The southernmost (upstream) temple is made of red granite, about 10 metres high. It is constructed of huge blocks of up to about 20 cubic metres, weighing up to about 100 tons each. These are so big as to be able to stand firm and not be moved by any flash flood.

The northernmost temple is downstream of the southern temple, so is protected from the worst pressure of descending flood water. It is mostly built of sandstone, of about half the height, perhaps 5 metres. The sandstone has suffered the same horizontal erosion as the sphinx, so both monuments must have been built before theses floods came, about 10,000 years ago. I conclude (confirming Anthony West) that they were built more than 11,000 years ago, would have been during the Age of Leo (11,000-13,000 years ago).

17 The size and weight of the building blocksThe material used to build the pyramids and temples was usually sandstone, but in some places red granite from Aswan was used, such as the southern temple of the sphinx, described above, and the sacred barque house at Karnak, described below. There is one pyramid that was constructed entirely of red granite. There are a total of 90 pyramids in Egypt, of which about 8 are at Giza, and 16 at Saqqara. There are also pyramids in many other countries, such as Mexico, and England (Silbury hill)

The largest pyramid (Khafre) is 445 feet (136 metres) high, and the base is 710 feet (210 metres) square. The angle of its sides is 52 degrees. It was built of millions of blocks of about 1 metre cube, weighing 2.5 tons. The total volume is 1.66 million cubic metres, so it would weigh about 4 million tons. It was originally faced with white limestone from the Turah quarries, but only the ‘hood’ of this casing remains, as most of it was taken a millennium ago to build the great mosque in Cairo on the east bank.

I postulate a theory that the bigger the block, the older the building. This is because I believe that it used to be possible to lift blocks with levitation, but the art gradually became lost thousands of years ago. The mystics believed that rock is alive, (although very fast asleep) and that it is possible to get its co-operation when it is ‘ready’ to move.

There are temple carvings of priests levitating corpses, and dancers levitating themselves.

18 The Age of Cancer 8,900-6,800BCCancer is represented as a crab, which has a hard shell with which to protect its soft core. It lives in water, and is a water sign. Its modality is cardinal, which means that it initiates new creations. It is a yin (female) sign, which probably gave rise to a matriarchy in human society.

It would be consistent in this age as a water sign to have had great floods, from the melting of the ice of the great ice age 10,000 years ago. This is thought to have caused the longitudinal erosion on the sphinx and its temples as described above. The Biblical story in the old testament of Noah who built an arc with which to save mankind and all the animals probably dates to this period.

Boats and boat building would have been the means of survival during this period of uncertainty. A boat was found at Cheops, at the foot of the great pyramid, and is now on display in the Cheops boat museum. It was found in pieces, and has been

reassembled. It is 46 metres long and 6 metres wide. It demonstrates the boat building skills of the time, which are highly advanced by any standard. A picture of it in the museum is shown in figure 9.

That boat is not unlike a larger version of the Venetian gondola, in that it is designed for high manoeuvrability in inland waters without sea waves. Accordingly both have a large length to beam ratio (around 7:1) so that they have a high maximum speed in knots (nautical miles per hour) This is given by the formula 1.4 times the square root of the waterline length in feet. If the Cheops boat had a waterline length of 100 feet, its maximum speed would have been 1.4 X 10 =

14 knots = 16 miles per hour, which would have been achievable with about 20 man power and a

favourable wind.

FIGURE 10 PLAN OF THE TEMPLE OF KARNAKThe southern temple of the sphinx, and the inner sanctum at Karnak temple consist of long, narrow spaces about 100 foot long by 20 feet wide, which look as if they had been designed to house a boat. The one at Karnak has a boat carved on the outer southern wall, and is known as the ‘sanctuary of the sacred barque’. It is building no 12 on the plan of Karnak temple on figure 9. These buildings are constructed of red granite blocks each weighing around 100 tons. The stone was quarried at Aswan and carried down the Nile on boats.

I postulate that the purpose of these granite buildings was the practical one of boat houses to preserve their contents (a boat) intact despite any flash flood. This could have inundated the building, but failed to wash it away because of the weight (100 tons) of the blocks. This purpose is worthy of the immense effort and cost in constructing them.

Survival in the Age of Cancer, when global warming and climate change could bring 100 foot flash floods down the Nile without warning, depended on everyone having a boat, and knowing how to use it. I postulate that these barque sanctuaries were

originally boat building colleges, where the art and science of boat building could be taught and learned by all the population. Many of the buildings around the barque sanctuary at Karnak were also used for the storage of boats. However, centuries or milenia later, the climate settled down and became more predictable. People had got into the habit of coming to the boat building college, so the surrounding land was built up in cheaper sandstone blocks for other purposes, such as sacrifices of animals to the gods. They built to the south, to the temple of Mut, and to the west via the hypostyle hall. (no 7 on the plan in figure 10)

These extensions are on such a scale, and in such different styles that I believe that they were added hundreds or thousands of years after the granite barque sanctuary. The ‘official’ age of this is given by Carpiceci (4) as 1960BC. However, I date it 7 milenia older, (around 9,000BC), as it is in similar style to the southern sphinx temple, for which the dating evidence is given above. Why go to the trouble and expense in building with 100 ton granite blocks, other than to protect boats and boat building technology against flash floods at the end of the ice age.

Having mastered the art of building in granite, in order to survice in the age of Cancer, they got what the Italians call the ‘malady de pietra’ (the sickness of stones) This made them obsessionally build, build, build, but in the cheaper and easier material of sandstone and limestone. Egypt has always been known as the ‘breadbasket; of the world, in which one can harvest 3 crops per year, so food was abundant. The rulers (matriarchal wise women) saw that employing people (particularly men) on the constructions of large projects kept them ‘off the streets’ and out of mischief.

The construction of pyramids and temples was just the job. According to astrologist Phoebe Wyss ( ) the great Ages had 3 phases of around 715 years each, cardinal, fixed and mutable. In the mutable phase, which would have been 7,520-6,805BC, the polarity sign dominates the energy. (zeitgeist) The polarity of Cancer is Capricorn, which is cardinal Earth. This is the sign of business, and accords well with the construction of pyramids and temples, which I believe were mostly built in this period, because that was the energy pertaining at that time. Note that this is about 7,000BC (9,000 years ago, and about 4,000 years older than the orthodox dating by cartouches.

There is much evidence that the pyramids were not built as mausoleums or burial chambers. They were adapted for that purpose during the mutable phase of the Age of Taurus, with the polarity energy of Scorpio, (death and the afterlife) from 3,230-2,515BC. This is pre-dynastic and the first 4 dynasties, including Zoser, (3rd dynasty) who was buried in the stepped pyramid (2,770BC) and Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, (4th dynasty) who were buried in the 3 great pyramids from 2,620-2520BC. This period is described in my earlier paper (1).

19 The Age of Gemini – 6,800-4600BCGemini is an air sign, meaning that it is of the element air. Air is the element of communication. The modality is mutable, which means that it removes what went before, and replaces something else. The glyph (symbol) of Gemini is the twins who are attached to each other. People with strong Gemini in their birth charts are known for having an obsession for talking, particularly to their siblings and friends.

According to the Old Testament, Moses (1,000BC) wrote his commandments on tablets of stone so that they would be preserved for ever to be read. The same is

true of the Egyptian temples. The walls and ceilings of the sandstone are the ‘tablets of stone’, and are covered in carvings and hieroglyphics. Practically no square inch is wasted, despite the fact that one would need ladders and searchlights to read most of what they portray. The powers that were had an obsession for recording their messages for posterity, which remained neglected until a few decades ago. Now in the age of Aquarius (fixed Air) millions of people come from all over the world to look at them. At last, in another Air sign, they are appreciated.

At the start of the Age of Gemini, round 6,800BC, the energy (zeitgeist) changed from Capricorn (build, build, build) to Gemini (talk, talk, talk) Writing in hieroglyphics was developed. The Tower of Babel, which failed to be built because people could not understand each other through failures in communication, was used as a cautionary tale.

The bare walls and ceilings of the temples built in the previous Age were bare, so were the ideal place for the powers that were, to have their messages (spin) carved, as permanent graffiti. The colleges of master builders (free masons) became colleges of carving, which became the main work.

As mentioned above, during the last 715 years of the Age, namely from 5,375-4,660BC) the polarity sign dominates. The polarity sign of Gemini is Sagitarrius. This is mutable fire, and is the sign of spirituality and religion. It is therefore consistent that the scenes portrayed in most of the carvings are of spirituality, such as the life force (Ka), portrayed by the ankh, the soul (Ba) the worship by giving and receiving with2 right hands, and 2 left hands, respectively, as described in paragraph 4 above.

After the end of the Age, the habits acquired carried on, but with diminishing energy. There are some scenes of warfare carved 4,000 years later during the Age of Aries for political reasons, such as the conquest of enemies, such as Rameses II in 1245BC. They contrast sharply with most of the carvings, in which the motive was religious.

20 The Age of Taurus 4,600-2,500BCTaurus is fixed Earth, is a yin (female) sign, and is represented by the bull and cow. These are represented in Dendera, which was dedicated to Hathor, the cow goddess. The Minator in Crete, and the sacred cow in India probably dates to this time. In early Minoan culture the bull was worshipped, and vaulted over, not killed.

The cardinal phase of this age was 4,660-3,945BC. I have seen 4,240BC quoted for the uniting of upper and lower Egypt, but I cannot remember the source. This unification is consistent with the zeitgeist, which is matriarchal, hence peaceful, when people co-operated for the common good, as described in the Minoan culture in Knossos, Crete, where women went bear breasted, fertility was worshipped and agriculture flourished.

The mutable phase of this Age was from 3,230-2,515BC, in which the polarity sign Scorpio dominated. This was consistent with the time of the obsession with death and the afterlife, which gave rise to mummification, and burial in the valleys of tombs. I have written this up, with later history to the present time in an earlier paper (1) to which the reader is referred.

21 Making sense of the gods and goddesses of the Egyptian religion.

I postulate the hypothesis that at the end of each phase of each Great Age, the spirit of the time (zeitgeist) changes. The religion has to follow suit, as a paradigm shift. What was worshipped before becomes anathema. However, there is resistance to change, because we are creatures of habit, which die hard.

For example, it is described in the Old Testament that the Israelites were forbidden to worship the golden calf (the symbol of the age of Taurus) This was because the Ram had become the new symbol for the Age of Aries from about 2500BC. Abraham was said to found the Judaic religion around 2,000BC, and the prophets who succeeded him, and wrote the Torah instinctively picked up on the new energy and preached the new religion.

This means that at every change of Age, (approximately every 2 millenia) the gods and goddesses have to be rebranded with new names, In Egypt , over the last 13,000 years, 6 such rebrandings have been made. This makes it very confusing for Egyptologists.

22 The Gods as representations of the astrological archetypesI postulate that the main gods and goddesses in the Egyptian (and every religion) represent the 12 astrological archetypes, (Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn Aquarius, and Pisces) or aspects of them. These are made up of the 3 astrological modalities, (cardinal, fixed and mutable) and the 4 astrological elements, (fire, air, water, and earth)

These archetypes are eternal, so reappear under different names in different places in different Ages, and different phases of an Age. The following is a glossary of

these names, and what I think that they became in Greek and Roman mythology, which succeeded the Egyptian religion. This was probably based on Hinduism, which I believe is older than the Egyptian religion. It was written down in the Vedic and other scriptures, hence was not rebranded.

23 Modalities of astrology (known as the trimurti of Hinduism)The modalities are eternal principles, representing the cyclical nature of creation, of birth, life, and death, which applies to everything throughout the universe, including stars and galaxies.

a) The cardinal mode is initiation, and is symbolised in Hinduism as the God of creation, called Brahma. He is the father of Manu, from whom all human beings are descended. Figure 11 is a carving of Brahma, from a Hindu temple. Note that he has 4 heads,

representing the cardinal directions, north, south, east and west. He also has 4 hands. His consorts are Savitri and Gayatri. (source Wikipedia)

b) The fixed mode is maintenance, symbolised by the Hindu god Vishnu. Shown in figure 12, he has 4 arms, and is the preserver who is all powerful and onmipresent. The statue shown is from the Pandya dynasty 7-8 th century BC. (source Wikipedia) He symbolises the foetus, wheras Brahma symbolises the placenta, which is redundant after birth.

c) The mutable mode is destruction to make way for the new cardinal mode, symbolised by the god Shiva. He is not represented in India because he was cursed by Brahma and Vishnyu to only be represented by a phallus. However, he tends to be represented by Nataraj, the god of dance, see figure 13

These Hindu gods probably have equivalent gods in Egyptian religion, but I do not know their names. The chief Egyptian god seems to be Ra the sun god, symbolised by a golden disc. He seems to be equivalent to the Hindu god Rama, who was an avatar of Vishnu. Rama’s wife was Sita, who may be the origin of Isis. I have attempted to correlate the astrological archetypes with the Egyptian rebrandings in table 3 below.

24 Postscript to previous paper (1) concerning the date of the change of great age from Pisces to Aquarius.This method of dating monuments rests entirely dating the change of Age accurately, which is hard to do. There is no consensus between astrologers on the year that the great age changed from Pisces to Aquarius. Some say that it has not yet happened. I (with Paul Wright) believe that this happened in 1775, with ‘the shot that was heard around the world’ that sparked the American revolution. I gave some evidence for this in my earlier paper, but the following confirms this.

The further that we progress into the present energy of the separating square between Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries, (which lasts from 2008-2018) the

more it seems to resemble the energy of that a few decades either side of 1775 (237 years ago) I take 15 degree orb as producing a significant effect.

From 1748 to 1762 Pluto in Sagitarrius was in separating square to Uranus in Pisces, with 4 exactitudes from 1754 to 1756. Pluto went into Capricorn in 1762 squaring Uranus in Aries (as at present) but losing orb in 1764.

14 years later, in 1778, Pluto went into Aquarius, and Uranus went into Leo in 1788. When their orb reached 5 degrees or less, their opposition caused the French revolution, which started with the storming of the Bastille on 14.7.1789, and continuing with 5 exactitudes in 1792 to 1794, moving out of orb in 1796.

This latter aspect was the more revolutionary, as this axis concerns the power struggle between authority (Leo) and the people (Aquarius). This was reflected in art, with the consent of the emperor of Austria to Mozart setting Beaumarchais’ Marriage of Figaro as an opera buffa, which was first performed in May 1786. It was followed by Don Giovanni in Oct 1787, whose full title in Italian is ‘Il dissoluto punito’ (The dissolute punished) Both are stories which defame the characters of the nobility, which were immensely popular at the time, and continue to this day. They are both very Neptunian, being full of deceipt and lies.

Over only 2 decades (1775-1795) the governmental structure of the whole western world suddenly changed from absolute power of the monarchs, to empowering the people with democracy. Society as was never the same again. This justifies naming it as the year of change of the great age from Pisces, (ruled by Jupiter king of the Gods, and Neptune) to Aquarius (ruled by Saturn and Uranus) France became a republic straight away, with Germany, Italy and most of the rest of Europe following. The monarchy survived in Britain and a few other countries, but it was totally stripped of any political power. 25 The present separating square, causing the ‘Arab spring’Now, 230 years later, the world is in the midst of a similar hard aspect of Pluto and Uranus in separating square, in the same signs of Capricorn and Aries, as shown in table 4. The present separating square started in 2008, and is manifesting in the western world as the crises in the public services of banking, policing, health, ‘fiscal cliff’ etc, which are all ‘Capricorn’ activities of government. However, the Islamic countries are dictatorships, and are now experiencing the energy in the same way that the western world did 230 years ago. It is called the ‘Arab spring’ as it started in Jan 2011, (2 years ago) when those planets came within a 5 degree orb of each other.

However, to call it ‘spring’ is a misnomer, as it is not for just one season. It has already lasted for 2 years, and the transit will last another 5 years before the planets separate out of orb in the 2018. In Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya, the people’s revolutionary forces have already overthrown their rulers to establish democracy, and fighting now is going on in Syria, Mali, Pakistan, and other countries.

Pluto and Uranus had 2 exactitudes of their square in 2012 (24.6.12 at 8 degrees, and 18.9.12 at 6 degrees) and there will be 5 more exactitudes, which are: 20.5.13 at 11 degrees, 1.11.13 at 9 degrees, 21.4.14 at 13 degrees, 15.12.14 at 12 degrees, and 17.3.15 at 15 degrees. They come back to within a 1 degree orb in Feb 2016, within a 3 degree orb in Feb 2017, a 5 degree orb in March 2018, when the transit could be said to be over.
