Preface

This Design Manual was prepared for the Public Works Authority Drainage Affairs. The February

2008 Restructure of the Public Works Authority dissolved both Drainage Affairs and Roads Affairs;combining the Project Design and Procurement functions for both Drainage and Roads Works withinthe newly created Infrastructure Affairs, and Operation and Maintenance functions within the newlycreated Assets Affairs. The Design Manual is adopted and released for use by Public WorksAuthority Infrastructure Affairs.

This Preface includes the addition of reference to the Qatar Construction Specification and alsoprovides adjustments to the Contact Listings contained in the FORWARD to the Design Manual to

reflect the changes brought about through the Public Works Authority restructure.

The following amendment to Item i B bullet one in the FORWARD to the Design Manual is

replaced by; The Qatar Construction Specification (QCS) 2007 published by Qatar General

Organization for Specifications and Metrology
