Travel Tips

TO PACK: Your summer gear! Sunglasses, towel, sun protection and a snorkel! If you have a ‘soft bag’ or travel pack, bring that as they are much easier to store on a yacht. Don’t worry about bringing a sleeping bag as we provide all of the linen except for your swimming towel.

LOCAL TAXES: As per our booking conditions, all passengers must pay £65 in local taxes. This is payable in the local currency and amounts to approximately 600 Kuna. Your skipper will collect this from you when you board the yacht in Split.

FOOD: A continental breakfast and light lunch are provided every day, but you are also free to bring onboard any snacks you wish. Please note lunch will not be served on Saturday arrival. BYO: Feel free to bring your own alcoholic beverages. Drinks can be purchased at a number of locations at the ports we stop at. There are cool boxes available on the yacht to keep drinks cold but please bear in mind that these are shared amongst all guests. We will provide water throughout your trip.

INSURANCE: We strongly recommend taking out travel insurance before you go. CASH: You will be able to get cash out at ATM’s in Split and Dubrovnik and at most of the ports we visit. The only accepted currency is the local currency ‘Kuna’. POWER: Our Yachts have european power points for charging whatever you need. Our stereo is compatible with most music players, so load up your iPod with your favourite summer tunes and bring them along!

VISAS: All travelers will need a passport valid for at least 90 days following your departure date from Croatia. Make sure your passport has blank Visa pages. Check www.visahq.com for Visa requirements for all nationalities.

TIPPING: Our skippers are there to look after you and ensure you have the best trip possible. If you feel they’ve succeeded in this regard then please feel free to tip them.

Budgeting And Extra Trips Croatia is a very cost effective holiday destination and caters for all kinds of travellers - whether you are on a backpacking tour of Europe or a luxury summer break with your friends.

In order to help you make the most of your sailing experience in this beautiful country we have set out a few guidelines on budgeting for your trip. As a guide £25-£30 (250-300 Kuna) per day is more than sufficient to cover your evening meal and drinks.

The following optional extra tours and activities are also available. These can be booked and paid for during your sailing trip.

MLJET NATIONAL PARK ENTRY - £10: Known as Croatia’s most seductive island, more than three-quarters of Mljet is covered in dense pine forest, and is home to the picturesque National Park. According to legend Greek god Odysseus was tricked into spending seven years on Mljet ... doesn’t sound so bad to us!

KAYAK AND BICYCLE HIRE - £12: Boasting two translucent saltwater lakes, Mljet Island is home to the Mediterranean’s largest coral reef – making it the best snorkelling in Croatia; so don’t leave here without taking a dip. Be sure to paddle out to the middle of the larger lake to see the small island home to a 12th-century Benedictine monastery. We can also arrange bike hire, and there’s an easy-to-follow bike trail which has stops along the way for must-see photo opportunities as well as places for a dip in the shallow end of the lakes.

WINE TASTING - FROM £5: Taste stunning Croatian wines and explore the winding cobbled roads of Korcula Old Town. Take your pick from the range of vintners offering their wares inside the old town walls, and sample the best of the local varieties.

HVAR WATER TAXI - £10: This service takes you directly from the exclusive Pakleni Island’s Palmizana Marina to the Hvar Town quay. Make sure you check your return journey time and keep your return stub!
