Clarifications to Queries raised during Pre - bid Meeting on 28.03.2014 at INKEL Kochi Office

The following clarifications to the above tender were given during the meeting. These will form part of the tender and the consequent contract.

Query Clarification

1. Nature of work The complete works of PEB and Civil shall be considered as a single contract and no bidder is allowed to quote for individual PEB or individual Civil works.

2. Third Floor details a) The load for the third floor shall be considered same as for the floors below.

b) Laterite Masonry for a height of 1.2m shall be considered all around the building on the third floor

3. Typical Plan a) The size for classroom 4 shall be read as 6.20 m x 6.35m

b) The width of the staircase shall be 1.4mts

4. Whole building a) Portal bracing shall be considered all around the building

b) Soffit shall be considered all around the building c) The purlins shall be galvanised. d) The steel sections shall be painted using one coat

of metallic primer and two coats of enamel paint (matt finish) only.

5. Design Calculations The design calculations submitted along with the tender during tender opening, shall need not be necessarily vetted by a competent authority but the same is mandatory as soon as the bidder is successfully awarded the work

6. Mandatory drawings & designs to be submitted along with the tender

a) Foundation details Footing, Pedestal & Plinth beam details, design, drawings, reinforcement details

b) Superstructure Column, Beam and Slab details, design, drawings

c) The plan and section provided with the contract document are indicative. Necessary changes without compromising the classroom size and

height are possible during design

7. Time of Completion Time is the essence of the contract and civil works up to plinth level should be completed before monsoon. The facility shall be put to use during the next academic year.

8. Others Value engineering suggestions are welcomed and contractors may integrate such ideas while bidding.
