With innovation in its DNA since the early ‘50’s, Alfa Pastry is leading its way to the top by constantly launching vanguard products and services. The very first milestone in this course of success was the invention, by the company ‘s founder Athanassios Koukoutaris, of a heating device that kept warm during transportation, the home-made pies he used to sell in his hometown, in north- ern Greece. That was back in 1952, when he was still a teenager. A few decades later Alfa Pastry reached a new important milestone by launch- ing the first ready -to-bake paper tray in Greece. Today, the thriving, popular company meets a new milestone by presenting an innovative variety of pre- baked frozen products.

Alfa Pastry produces delicious quality pastries that, through the prebaking procedure, can be served within the minimum of time and at a very reasonable cost. All those products need, is to acquire their exceptional taste by heating them a few more minutes in the oven- electric or microwave. This is a great investment that allows Alfa Pastry to produce baked, frozen products in cate- gories like thick traditional “filo”, bread dough, puff pastry etc.

When baked in the oven they become irresistibly crispy while in the microwave oven, the “filo” becomes slightly softer, something very popular among many consumers. Products of this category can be particularly attractive to markets where consumers are more trained to the fast results of microwave baking. They can also be packaged per item in a flow pack (like readymade croissants for instance) using a special material that can withstand high temperatures or bulk in a box, allowing the retailer to bake and serve only the quantities needed.
