Care of Dharma Books

Dharma books contain the words ofthe Buddha and as such they have thepotential to protect against lowerrebirth and to point the way toliberation.

Therefore they should be treated withrespect, kept off the floor and placeswhere people sit or walk and notstepped over and drinks should not bepassed over them (in case of spillage),

but rather passed around the text orbook.

They should be covered or protectedwhen being transported, and kept in ahigh clean place of respect.

When wanting to dispose of the text, itshould be preferably burnt rather thantossed in the bin.
