"Contemplative Prayer 101: Come Listen to your Beloved"
This day of prayer will focus on the importance of silent receptive prayer in our spiritual journey as seen in the history and tradition of contemplative prayer in the Church. ANNOUNCEMENTS
Our students are being given the opportunity to participate in a Children’s Envelope Program. On the envelope, the student is encouraged to write something they have done for God this week: time in prayer for others, using their talents to help others in need, a good deed they did without being told to, or anything that would be given to God. Monetary gifts are not the goal of this program, if a child earns money for chores, they may decide to share their earnings with the church. Students will participate in the Offertory of Mass by placing their offering in the basket.

CONFIDENCE IN THE LORD
Aluminum, Stainless Steel
& Cast Iron
We are nearing the end of the liturgical year. Today’s readings remind us
that our own lives will draw to a close one day, and we can be certain that the Lord will encourage, strengthen, and save us—both now and at the
last. The astonishing story of the Maccabees invigorates our faith as we behold an entire family willing to die rather than deny the Law of Moses.
The psalm response echoes the faithful cries of the Maccabees: “I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God.” That same confidence appears
in Saint Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians. “The Lord is faithful,” he testifies; “he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.” In the Gospel, Jesus explains just how long God’s protection will endure. The
children of God whom God guards, Jesus says, will live forever like angels.
