Loving God, your Son Jesus chose the path which led to pain before joy, and to the cross before glory. Plant his cross deep in our hearts, so that through its power and love, we may also experience the joy and glory that never ends. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Rally Day Team Members We are already planning for Rally Day, which will occur Sunday, September 13 this year. We are in need of volunteers for: Food Service Event MC’s Set Up & Clean Up Event Hosts (Will staff an event such as bounce

house, crafts, etc. for 1 hour) Promo team Supplies team (to make decision on supplies

needed, shop & make available for each team) Extra Ushers & Extra Communion Assistants We will have 2 planning meetings this summer. Staff Contact: Deborah Robitaille or Jenn Angus.

Your Summer Giving Is Very Important!!

Calvary continues to be a very generous, faithful and growing congregation. Nevertheless we are experiencing a shortfall in our General Ministry Operating Fund that we do not want to see grow over the summer when many of us will be away enjoying the goodness of family and God's creation. Now more than ever people need the hope the church offers and through your giving God is truly at work. Please prayerfully consider what God is calling you to give so that we can continue to “know Christ and make Christ known!” And please remember that the work of God’s church continues all summer (as do expenses) whether you are present each week or not – so please plan your faithful giving accordingly. This is one of the reasons Debbie and I use electronic fund transfer (EFT) so that our gifts flow to Calvary whether we are here physically or not. Blessings to you! Pastor Jonathan
