I’m so glad you’re in my life; I’m so glad you came to save us. You came from heaven to earth to show the way, from the earth to the cross, my debt to pay; from the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky; Lord I lift your name on high. CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 52 ONE: Why do you boast, O mighty one, of mischief done against the godly? All day long you are plotting destruction. Your tongue is like a sharp razor, you worker of treachery. ALL: You love evil more than good, and lying more than speaking the truth. Selah ONE: You love all words that devour, O deceitful tongue. ALL: But God will break you down forever; he will snatch and tear you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living. Selah

ONE: The righteous will see, and fear, and will laugh at the evildoer, saying, ALL: "See the one who would not take refuge in God, but trusted in abundant riches, and sought refuge in wealth!" ONE: But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever. ALL: I will thank you forever, because of what you have done. In the presence of the faithful I will proclaim your name, for it is good. SONG “Bless the Lord” (Piano) ZSS 9 PRAYER (Centering Silence)

God of all creation, We thank you for another day to praise you, and to remember the grace and mercy that you grant us in each moment. Forgive us for those times when we have not loved you with our whole heart. Forgive us for those times when we have not done your will, and when we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. Forgive us for all those moments when we have been so concerned about the business of others that we were unable to do your will. We thank you for second chances, and for the restoration of broken relationships, and broken homes. We thank you for bringing us into wholeness spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally. Let us always be ready to hear the cries of those with whom we are in community, and then respond compassionately. We pray all these things in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

At times you speak in unexpected ways, in the voice of a friend, neighbor, or stranger. May we come to know you so well that we discern your message of blessing in others’ words. May our congregation become more like Abraham and Sarah, through whose offspring you have blessed the world. May we receive strangers and provide hospitality with no expectation of reward.
