The Programs Committee of PRAU is theoperations arm of the Association

The Committee and the entire Governing

Council have made contact and areplanning implementation of thefollowing programs starting in 2012 andcontinuation of existing ones

1st

PRAU Nite was held on 5th

August 2011 Successful event with over 250 people in

attendance

PRAU Nite was established to create a

networking opportunity for members and

also to raise revenue for the Association

Attendance comprised of PRAU members,MDs, PR practitioners, students, media

and the general public

Key note address was presented by Dr.Gitahi Githinji, then Managing Director of

Daily Monitor

Topic: New Twist to PR; Communications

transitioning from an art to a science

The PRAU website and 3rd ExcellenceAwards were launched andannounced during PRAU Nite

Media coverage received for PRAU

Nite was excellent in all media i.e.press, TV and on radio

The PRAU Facebook page was veryactive too

PRAU Nite was sponsored by Serena &Tusker Malt Lager

Successfully held on 4th November andvery well attended

URA scooped 4 awards

Fireworks Advertising took home the

Overall PR Excellence Award Key learnings from the judges included;

The need for participants to compile bettersubmissions

Submissions lacked elaborate technical parts

that would enhance participation Adherence to evaluation criteria

PRAU Nite

Scheduled to take place in July andOctober

Key note speakers will be selectedbased on topics to be agreed upon

All members are encouraged toattend and contributes

PRAU Nite is a networking andengagement opportunity for members

These are planned Corporate sponsored get-together evenings for PRAU members and thesponsoring company/organisation

PRAU will request Corporate members tovolunteer to sponsor a get together for each

month and its up to the company to decidehow they organize the logistics of the event.

The host company also organizes for a venuefor the sitting of the Governing Councilmeeting which precedes the networking/get

together event for PRAU members The GC will have the committee meeting

earlier i.e. 4pm and then proceed to join therest of the PRAU members at 6pm.

The GC responsibility is to invite PRAUmembers while the rest is handled by the hostcompany who will also have the rights tobrand the event and have media present

The underlying objective is to ensure PRAU

members have a forum at which they meetevery month, network and promote theirvarious business interests.

The evenings are designed to unite all PRAUmembers at no cost as all the costs are borne

by the hosting company. PRAU GC requests all members representing

different Corporates to encourage theircompanies to take up this opportunity to hostthese monthly evenings.

PR Trainings

PR trainings are being planned with afocus on imparting PR skills to attendees

These will include Political PR, Celebrity PR,Executive PR among others

The main objective of the trainings

To enable PR people, business executivesand public officials engage moreeffectively with the media

To help PRAU members, business executivesand public officials appreciate the placeand role of the media & PR in society

To provide training that equips PRAUmembers with the necessary skills tonavigate an evolving and intensive media& PR landscape

CEO & Students Forum

These fora will be opportunities formembers and participants to engagewith students and CEOs

Revenue generation opportunities

Disseminate the power of PRAU to thestudent community in Uganda and EastAfrica

Create awareness of PRAU activities

Build on membership both externally &internally

Enable CEOs from different companies

engage and share with members
