Praise The Lord oh My Soul

The Bible tells us that God is worthy of our praise, and indeed He is.

He is worthy all our praise. The call to worship God is one that we as

Christians must obey at all times and in all seasons. It is a call that we

as His children must heed for a very simple reason – Praising God is

what we are here to do; it’s what we are made for.

Regardless of the fact that we are obliged to praise God, there are so

many reasons why we should always remember to praise Him in

gratitude for all that He does for us. Psalm 103: 1-5 tells us of all the

benefits that the Lord provides us with:

He forgives us of all our sins and iniquities

He heals our sicknesses, illnesses, diseases and infirmities

He redeems our lives from destruction by the enemy – protects

us from our enemies

He crowns us with loving kindness and tender mercies every

day

He satisfies our mouths with good things so that our youth is

restored like that of the eagles

For these reasons and more, we should always remember to start our

daily business by praising God because the devil and his minions are

always looking for ways to kill, steal and destroy all that we are and

all that we have. But as we praise the Lord we are confident that as

we praise Him, he will vanquish our enemies. In the book of Psalms

we read -

“I will magnify the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I

be saved from my enemies”.

If we remember Paul and Silas, they were praying and signing praises

to God when all of a sudden their bonds were broken and the prison

doors opened – They were set free, their praise to God set them free.

Praise is crucial to life as a Christian because it is our way of telling

God that we trust him and expect him to arise on our behalf regardless

of how bad things appear in the present. It’s our way of saying

regardless of how things seem, He is still the Lord of our lives and

that we are expecting Him to make all the areas of our lives beautiful

in His perfect time.

As we start this day, let us start by praising God and let us watch how

He will arise on our behalves and give us victory in the areas of our

lives that we bring under His control and direction.
