THANK YOU PRAIRIE VIEW PTO!
Over the last year, the PTO has been working with Prairie View staff to
establish a gymnasium that is conducive to providing a place for con-
certs, assemblies, and many PTO ac vi es. This summer we were fortu-
nate to have that major project come to frui on with sound boards
placed throughout the gymnasium to help with acous cs. We are
thrilled to be able to hear the difference in sound as our gymnasium is
used for daily physical educa on classes. As we look forward to our first
assembly, Veteran’s Day and our Movie Night, we are an cipa ng for
our Prairie View families to no ce the difference, as well. Thank you to
our Prairie View PTO for your dona on to make this happen.

NEWS FROM THE PRAIRIE VIEW LIBRARY
Brand new year!! The PV Library is ready to get books in your students hands! Please keep in mind a few expectations for your student:
Books must be returned EVERY week! Even if they are renewing a book they would like to finish reading,
All Kindergarten and 1st graders will check out one book a week. If they forget their book, they will be unable to check out another.
All 2nd - 5th grade check out 2 books a week and their accounts are monitored appropriately to make sure they are turning in all books or renewing books.
I am also looking for any parents who would like to come and volunteer in the library. I always have various jobs that helps make the library a special place for reading. If you are interested, please email me.
I'm glad to be serving your students again this year. Happy Reading!

f you notice that your child has displayed any of the above difficulties, or if you have other concerns, please contact Julie Salamone, Early Childhood Special Education Coordinator at 847-464-6008 to arrange an Early Childhood Screening.

CLASSROOM PARTY SIGN UP and CLASSROOM CO-COMMUNICATION LIASION During the school year there are three classroom parties that parents plan for their child’s respective classroom: Halloween Party, Winter Holiday Party, End of Year Party. We are looking for 6 parent volunteers to plan, prepare and attend for each party (one parent per child please.) Sign up will be done online this school year. You may sign up to volunteer for one party online through the PV PTO website.
www.prairieviewgradeschoolpto.com Sign up will begin on Friday, September 1st at 4:00pm and will close on Friday, September 8th at 4:00pm. Two co-communication captains (CCCs) are needed for each classroom as well. You may sign up for this role, as well, through the PV PTO website. CCCs will ensure that party planning for each party has begun in a timely manner, organize donations for the Valentine’s Day party, and manage any other miscellaneous classroom events that need parent involvement. CCCs, if desired, still need to sign up for one party to attend. Your commitment to be a CCC does NOT automatically sign you up for party planning.

Back to school is in full swing as we present a bountiful selection of drawings that introduces our stu-dents to a fascinating world of color, pattern, and design. We say farewell to summer in our detailed still life drawing of a beach. We explore color usage and composition in our chameleon and fire truck drawings. In keeping with the season, our stylized fall leaves drawing challenges our technique and color scheme. Our students will learn cultural themes as they draw and color Kawaii inspired art. All this and more awaits your child in a Young Rembrandts classroom! Sign up today!
YOUNG REMBRANDTS provides all classroom supplies and a trained instructor. Classes are held immediately after school. Parents are responsible for transportation at class end.

“I began this program a bit skeptical as I didn’t know
much about it and my wife signed me up. I started
the program with my daughter in Kindergarten and
from the first campout with her falling asleep in my
arms, I knew I would stay in the program for as long
as they would have me. I now have my daughter and
two sons in the program and have taken on a
leadership role for the group. Any dads out there that
want the type of bond that lasts a lifetime, you need
to join” Brian Ciullo‐ Dad Guide and Princesses
