Housing demand Assessment: The adopted methodology should be in

tune with the recommended guidelines contained para 8.3 of the PMAY-

HFA scheme guidelines of March 2016. This section describes the

process of demand assessment as per these guidelines.

• Demand survey to be conducted in the entire municipality by inviting

applications from urban poor living in kutcha/semi-Pucca houses and

belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) for availing

House under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Housing for All (Urban).

• The first notification Should be issued, which should be publicized

through different media, viz. leading local daily newspaper, up-loading

on Municipal Corporation Website; door-to-door loudspeaker publicity;

word-of-mouth publicity by elected representatives (Councilors & ward

members), social workers, NGOs, etc.

• The application format as per Annexure – 4 Format A and B should be

made available through the Corporation office, website, the municipal

councilors.

• All the applications should be subsequently scrutinized and also

crossed-verified with SECC, 2011 data.

• Applications having discrepancies with the SECC data, needed

further verification through field visits.

• 1st Preliminary list of beneficiaries Should be published, claims

should be invited, objections from the public to the said list. The

notification should also published through newspaper, door-to-door

loudspeaker publicity, website, Word of mouth by municipal

councilors etc.

• Claims and objections were received in response to the above

notification should be considered.

• The second notification if need should also be released, in the

similar manner to 1st notification.
