Creating Document Lifecycles

We can have as many different document lifecycles as required

Document Lifecycles determine the flow of data

Document Lifecycles provide an audit trail of who has done what,

when and how

Document Lifecycles determine who can access data and what

they can do with that data

They also determine who can move documents from one

lifecycle state to another and what happens when they move to a

different state

Managing Content Centre Parts

In most cases, parts inserted from the Inventor Content Centre

should by default be in a released state and locked for editing as

we are not in control of the design

Inventor Content Centre parts by default are read-only

Use the ‘Is Content’ property to create a category and lifecycle

specifically for Content Centre components
