App Concept Design Evaluation

The purpose of this assignment is to use the knowledge of graphics design and layout and use of software by exploring similar digital applications, companies and genres to inform my own work.

I must create a working concept for an App. This could be either Weather, Sport Student Recipe App; there are many different apps but mine has to be specifically for a particular demographic.

Firstly I decided to look in to exiting apps and researched on them in order to gain ideas and information on apps, and then I collect their iconsAs you can see below: Social App icon Research and App Icon Collection. From that I decided to select one of the app and research into them. Dream League Soccer App Research.

Secondly I decided to brain storm and mind map my ideas for final app. As you I am into Sport and I am also Chelsea fan, and therefor I decided to stick with Chelsea FC app, But however there are so many exiting Chelsea FC apps, But I felt like I wanted to design Chelsea Fc app, so I decided to go with Chelsea Fc app. I also decided to sketch my final app layouts. As you can see below:

Thirdly I decided to build my concept app layout digitally by using Adobe Illustrator CC. I did this by going trough my initial plan. As I had experience using illustrator before I found really easier to use the software to crate my app.

I also decided to base my app on the iTunes Interface by creating the basic description and information about the app. I did this using the iTunes interface on the illustrator. I got the existing template

from the iTunes then I placed my icon logo on the interface, then I took some screen shots to put them up on the iTunes and finally I wrote description on the app for example who is it for? And the features in them.As you can see below:

For my final stage I decided to make the pages interactive. I did this using the Game Salad software. So firstly I exported the elements from illustrator as a PNG files in to one folder. Then I set the page to IPhone 5 Portrait and then I imported the PNG files on to game salad. Then I used the game rules to make them interactive. I found this was easier then creating the concept one digitally.But however I feel like I am happy with my final app design because I spend some extra hours of work on this.
