Is there any format for company Name?

Yes, the name must contain 3 parts in the name. First, Unique noun. Second, activity of the company and third part should contain nature of the company.

Abbreviated words are not unique noun.

Example: SSB Learning Solutions (SSB stands for selection for Service Boards)

The word should not be general.

Blue, Excellent, Happy, Data, Info, Beautiful Etc

Type and case of letters, spacing between letters and punctuation marks

Addition of an internet related designation, such as .com, .net, .edu, .gov, .org, .in, even where (.) is written as ‘dot’;

What else I should check?

You should for check for trademark also! If a name is trademarked already, you cannot have the name for your company. You can do trademark search on your own with this link below:

The name should not contain any word which is offensive to any community.

Words like Chit Fund, Financing, Investment or Loan should not be included unless company is actually involved in the same.

What else I should check?

The name should not contain words like State, India, Bharat etc

Name of any city in India also cannot be the name of your company. If company name contains name of any foreign city, proof of business connection with the said place should be submitted.

These words must not be there in the name!!

If company is NGO or S.8 company..

The name shall include the words Foundation, Forum, Association, Federation, Chambers, Confederation, council, Electoral trust or alike.

Tips for choosing unique name for company

The best method is to create names on your own.

Example: if your name is Rakesh and your partner’s name is Ravi, call your company “RAKAVI”.

If you want your company name should mean ‘beautiful’, search for the words synonym to beautiful in any other foreign or regional language.
