What is ‘Terrorism’?

• Terrorism is defined as violent acts that tend to create fear among people.

• The term was first used during the French Revolution

• People who support terrorism are called Terrorists

• Terrorist attacks usually occur in places with thick population density

Different acts of terrorism

• Bombing: When terrorists would plant an explosive in a public place and lets it detonate.

• Hijacking: When terrorists take over a vehicle and they may ask the pilots to divert the vehicle to another destination.

• Riots: When an mob of terrorists (or people) react to a certain action violently.

Types of terrorists

• Domestic Terrorists: Domestic Terrorists are terrorists who are not part of any group. These terrorists are individual and usually carry out small acts of terrorism. They do not pose as a big threat to nations.

• Grouped Terrorists: They are the ones who come from a group an they are the most infamous ones. These terrorists pose a threat to nations.

Types of terrorists• Since terrorist groups are infamous, they

usually have one or multiple hideouts around the world or in one country.

Timeline 1993-2009• Thirteen bombs detonate across Mumbai,

India killing 250 people (1993)• Terrorists hijack 4 planes and fly 2 of them into

the Twin Towers, NY, The Pentagon, VA, and a field in Pennsylvania. The attack kills more than 3000 people.

• Terrorists detonate bombs across Mumbai killing more than 170 people.
