Guru Nanak (1469-1539) was one of the greatest
religious innovators of all time and the founder of the
Sikh religion.
Guru Nanak's birthday is celebrated by Sikhs on April
14th by the Nanakshahi calendar.
His family were Hindus, but Nanak soon showed an
advanced interest in religion and studied Islam and
Hinduism extensively.
Guru Nanak Dev ji
Nanak, the Reformer Refused as a child to wear the ritualistic "sacred"
thread called a janeu.
Nanak, the Merchant Doing good deeds for others had earned an
excellent profit.
Emerged as a Leader
Nanak, the Householder treated everyone generously, and dealt with
them fairly. men of different faiths could worship
together.Nanak, the Enlightened One There is no Hindu, there is no Muslim. " The amazed town's people agreed that
Nanak must be a completely enlightened being and began to call him "Guru."

There is One God.
All human races are equal.
Love towards to all and Hatred towards none.
Every person has a right to freely think, speak and pursue a
faith of his or her choice.
Judge a person by his deeds and not by his class or status.
Guru Nanak’s Message
Sangat (Congreation)- Pray for the good of all living Regular Collective
meditation and praying are the food for the soul beings on this earth.
Pangat ( Guru ka langar)- To prepare, serve and eat together regardless of caste,
colour or creed.
Guru Nanak dev Ji Introduced:
Naam Japna –
To Remember God at all times, which will bring you
contentment, truth, humility and virtue.
Kirat Karna –
To work and earn a livelihood by honest means which
preaches against slavery and injustice.
Wand Chakna –
To share wealth, brings the essence of equality to oneself.
Teachings
Equality.
Purity of life.
To do away with selfishness.
One must be brave and ready to face any situation in
life.
Mercy is a quality that is must in people.
Lust, anger, pride and backbiting are highly condemned.
Learnings
IF YOU DON’T SEE GOD IN ALL, YOU DON’T
SEE GOD AT ALL.
