Make sure you (or your moving company) weigh your truck empty AND full. • The order doesn’t matter. If you forget to weigh it before you start loading it - no worries - just weigh it empty at the end. 2 1 Head to your TMO to get all your PPM paperwork before you PCS - They need to approve your PPM. • See our “Required PPM Forms” Document for more information on what paperwork you’ll need. 3 Keep important documents WITH YOU while traveling. • Take them into your hotel with you at night - treat them like your child or pet and never let them leave your side. 4 Keep ALL your receipts! 5 Once you arrive at your new base, take your weight tickets to your TMO and your travel receipts to the finance office. • Attach all receipts to your PPM Move Certificate and Vehicle Title/Registration. • You have 45 days to submit a claim for full payment. • Any moving costs that exceed the government cost will be at your own expense. • However, payments more than your actual moving costs may be taxable! MOVE WILL BE DONATED TO THE TO SUPPORT SERVICE MEMBERS DURING THEIR TRANSITION TO CIVILIAN LIFE.
