PPITT MEETING MINUTES

PRESENTATIONS
Special Kids Special Families
Zachs Place provides respite and childcare services
for children with disabilities from 5-21 years old. Staff
also provides in-home respite 24 hours a day/7 days
a week.
Koscove Kids teach preschool and elementary aged
children about their peers with disabilities through the
use of puppets. If you know of a school that is
interested, contact Gregg. Sibshops: Workshops for siblings of children with
special needs. Registration is $15/child. Halloween &
Carnival Party is coming up on October 26.
IndyGive campaign runs from November 1
December 31.
SKSF - Adult Services
The Adult Services programs (ICAN and Joeys
Place) have 80 clients and continue to grow. EBD

waiver services will soon be available. Adult Services
is always looking for volunteers!
Value Options Health Partnerships An administrative partner for behavioral health and
wellness. They partner with Aspen Pointe in the
Colorado Springs area to provide services locally.
With the Medicaid expansion under the Affordable
Care Act, more people will qualify for mental health
services. Paul stressed that, even if an individual isreceiving services for a disability, they can still apply
for behavioral health services under Medicaid.

New Heights Behavioral Health/The Resource Exchange
Offer behavioral therapy, dance therapy, and play
therapy among other techniques to children and
adults with developmental disabilities Working on developing group therapy using dance
(Courageous Connections), a caregiver support
group, empathy/relational skills therapy, and
assessment techniques

Discover the Possibilities Networking Lunch every 1st
Monday of the month at 11:00 or Noon includes tour

Ambassador Program allows you to invite 10 friends,
family members, colleagues, or neighbors to attend a

AGENCY UPDATES
SKSF The Octo8 Special Run is coming up onNovember 2 and includes an 8K, a 1K Family Fun
Run, and Wheelchair Derby. Registration begins at 8
a.m. at University Village Colorado, 5280 N. Nevada
Ave.
Mosaic Partners in Possibilities is coming up on
October 29 TRE Legislative Town Hall meeting on
Developmental Disabilities is coming up on October
24 at 6:30 p.m.
RESOURCE FAIR UPDATES
Glenn Azare and Gayle Gross have volunteered to
help put together the Resource Fair Directory for 2014
