• Our mission is to utilize our network of teachers, parents and community members to connect interested students with pen pals across the globe. Connect with ESL students at Chungdahm Learning!_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The school we are based out of is called Chungdahm Learning and is located in Seoul, South Korea. Our facility operates in 13 week terms so we have 4 terms per year with new classes each time.
We will collect as many interested international students as possible in the first couple of weeks of each term, preferably as class cohorts, and then match those classes with an appropriate class at Chungdahm Learning.
Our students range from young elementary to high school students so all ages in this range are welcome to join!
6 Easy Steps!________________________
• 1. International classes will be recruited 4 times a year in the 1st 2 weeks of each term.
• ***All Volunteer and Student Registration forms due by March 5 th (Spring), June 5th (Summer), September 5th (Fall), December 5th (Winter)***
• 2. Recruited classes will be matched with Chungdahm Learning classes.
• 3. Chungdahm class will write 1st pen pal letter together as a class and it will be mailed within one month to the corresponding school.
• 4. International class will write back within one month so we get them before the end of the term.
• 5. Students can choose to continue with their pen pals on an individual basis if they so choose with the personal information we give them on the Student Registration Forms.
• 6. A new cycle will start again the next term.
Directions for volunteers:
• 1. Fill in the Volunteer Registration Form.• 2. Have your students fill in the Student Registration Form (You will be
their initial sponsor and contact for the 1st round of exchange letters).• 3. E-mail all forms back to your volunteer contact at Chungdahm
Learning, separated by class if you have more than one.• 4. Please remind your students that their pen pals are currently learning
the English language so they know what to expect as far as language skills are concerned.
• 5. Enclosed in the files initially sent by your contact at PPI- you will see a poster- you may print and use this to spread the word at your school.
• 6. Wait 4-6 weeks for the return letters after the Due Dates for each term.• 7. Send the return letters/pictures in a class package to the return address
with ATTN: the name of the teacher and school you received it from. • 8. Postage: You or your school may make a tax-deductible donation for
the cost of shipping- or you may divide the cost among your students.
