award on behalf of the

The office bested two

other contenders for

the honor, namely, the

Ilocos Norte Parole and

San Jose City Parole

and Probation Office. A

Plaque of Recognition,

coupled with a five

Davao City.

Joining the com-petition was first for the office and was fortunate enough to succeed under the competent leadership

of the late OIC Benjamin Dullano and CPPO Helen Telada. It can be recalled that the project was es-tablished in mid-2012 by the office and its volun-teers to address the finan-cial inadequacy in the im-plementation of rehabili-

tation programs for the clients. The greenhouse had materialized through the provision of a parcel of land by the Barangay Council of Marapangi and the fi-nancial support of the Department of Agricul-ture Regional Field Unit XI (DA-RFU XI). A year of hard work by the staff and volunteers had finally been recog-nized and fittingly re-warded.

Having won the award, however, does not allow the office to rest on its laurels be-cause the prize has mo-tivated it even more to come up with better projects for the clients in the near future.

PPA-DOJ XI COMMITS FOR TCLP IMPLEMENTATION By Amites Bragat-Butiong

All the preparations set by the personnel of PPA-DOJ XI for the much talked and awaited 2nd National Thera-peutic Community Enhancement Training came to fruition on May 27-31, 2013 at the Bahay Alumni, Madapo Hills, Davao City. It was quite exciting and diverse in nature because aside from the required personnel of PPA-DOJ XI, 16 participants from PPA-DOJ XIII and 2 from PPA-DOJ X joined and participated in the activity. The over-all objective of the training was to enhance the imple-menters’ knowledge, skills and attitude on the TC treatment modality using a ladderized approach within the setting of the PPA-DOJ community-based re-habilitation program. Said training was formally opened by RD Leo S. Carrillo followed by the turn-over ceremony of the TCLP manuals to the participants. It was a fortunate opportunity for all the participants as they experi-enced the expertise of the resource per-sons RD Emetri J. Amoroso and RD Charito S. Zamora who were praised for their efficiency, professionalism, mastery and accommodation as the training had ascended. To ensure that said training would not be monopolized by the main

speakers, other members of the Re-gional TC Team were given topics and assignments. RD Carolina C. Vanzuela tasked to discuss the Phase 4, CPPO Amites Bragat-Butiong handled Hats Off, Levelling of Expectations and Ad-dictive Behaviour, CPPO Benjamin C. Cutay, Jr facilitated the Resistance and Process of Change and Coercion and Dissonance, CPPO Nimfa V. Dayen for Phase 3, PPO II Kim P. Galagala for Peer Confrontation and SPPO/OIC Elizabeth O. Villaver acted as Modera-tor in the demonstration of the Morn-ing Meeting. Likewise, SrPPO Dante Lisondras and Sr.PPO Blasito Rosales from PPA-DOJ XIII handled the Ver-bal Haircut and Encounter Group re-spectively. The rest of the important top-ics were facilitated with proficiency and indefatigability by said two re-source persons who helped and con-tributed much to the outputs of the action plan per field office. The elabo-ration of the topics, the clear answers to all the gray areas presented, the sharing of diverse actual experiences in the field plus the inspiring and chal-lenging activities during the Reinvigor-ating and Renewing Commitment paved the way in coming up with deci-sions of field offices to start anew even though some of them are currently in

Phase 3 just to ensure pride in quality in the implementation and to ensure that clients be helped in their pursuit of moving from wrong living to right living. Even before the training was over, the participants already ex-pressed to all involved, most especially to the two speakers their valuable in-sights as well as their gratitude, in the graffiti corner provided. The closing program was graced by no less than the Administra-tor Manuel G. Co. The keynote mes-sage he gave motivated, inspired and challenged the participants to imple-ment TCLP and other flagship pro-grams wholeheartedly, despite inade-quacies in funding support and man-power. The seminar ended with giving of small tokens prepared by PPA-DOJ XI personnel to all participants as their humble way of showing camaraderie, support and dedication to help one another in the implementation of TCLP all for the best interest of the clients. Commitment has become the mantra there from.
