If the student wants the Financial Aid Office to be able speak to anyone (including a parent) regarding the financial aid, the student must complete an electronic FERPA release form on WebAdvisor.

1. Log in to WebAdvisor and click on the Student tab

2. At the bottom under Communication, click on FERPA/Emergency Releases.

3. Go to the bottom of the page to find FERPA Releases and add the person(s) who can obtain information on your account.

* This is a separate process from granting a parent access to WebAdvisor!

Your award letter includes a listing of each individual award you

will receive and contains an estimate of your remaining direct

costs.

Think you applied for financial aid but didn’t get a financial aid

award notice from FDU? Call the Office ASAP so we can look into

this for you.

It could be that FDU doesn’t have your Social Security Number OR

that FDU wasn’t listed on your FAFSA OR it got lost in the

mail/email.

A student selected for federal verification is required to provide

additional documentation to FDU to confirm the information reported on

your FAFSA.

You may also have been selected for verification by the State of New

Jersey and the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA)

will request additional documentation.

Your financial aid is pending and subject to change until

verification is completed.

Loans need to be repaid. Repayment typically begins six months after

the student graduates or drops below half-time in any semester.

Subsidized loans and unsubsidized loans have the same interest rate

(2.75%), but the government pays the interest on the loan while the

student is in school.

You can make interest only payments on the unsubsidized loan while

the student is in school. You will make those arrangements with your

loan servicer.
