Go the electrical panel and turn off the breaker that controls the outlet that you want to replace.

Using a test meter, verify that there is no voltage at the outlet.

Remove the electrical outlet cover.

Remove the electrical outlet.

Remove the first wire from the outlet.

Remove the other wire from the outlet.

Remove the ground wire from the outlet. All wires are now removed from the old outlet.

On the new outlet, attach the white wire to the silver-colored screw on the outlet.

Attach the black wire to the bronze-colored screw on the outlet.

Attach the ground wire to the green-colored screw.

Install the new outlet into the electrical box.

Replace the electrical outlet cover.

Turn on the breaker that controls the outlet and verify correct operation.
