Engagement Plan • Local Government Act:
• Identifies audiences and approaches for engagement
• Board must adopt engagement plan that provides “early and ongoing” opportunities for input
• Board must consider holding a Regional Public Hearing
• Engagement Plan consistent with Public Engagement Policy

affected• Match audience and expertise
to the issue at hand • Engage early• Collaborate on the
engagement process

MVRD Board Direction Staff to consider and report back on:
• Inclusion of “up to three Regional Public Hearings with at least one located South of the Fraser”; and
• Consider other Board comments, including requests to clarify and potentially expand public engagement.

Public Hearing Considerations• The MVRD Board can:
• Adjourn and reconvene a regional public hearing over days and locations
• Adjust quorum• Delegate attendees
• A regional public hearing occurs with a complete draft document
