The promotion begins in February 2017 and will offer North Dakota Powerball players a chance at an adventure of a lifetime. Six North Dakota Powerball players will win a Power Cruise trip prize!

What is Power Cruise? Power Cruise is a Privately Chartered Cruise on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines Brilliance of the Seas® and it’s only for Lottery Winners! The Power Cruise trip prize includes (for winner and guest):

• Round trip airfare to departure port in Tampa; • Deluxe hotel accommodations for the night before cruise departure; • Ground transportation from hotel to port; • All amenities onboard the ship including, but not limited to: all meals, non-alcoholic beverages, entertainment and primary gratuities.

Happy Holidays! It’s the most wonderful time of the year as we get together with family and friends enjoying the holiday season and reflecting back on the past year. And what a year it was for the Lottery with record-setting sales, record-setting Powerball jackpot ($1.5 BILLION!), and the largest lottery prize ever won in North Dakota ($3 million Mega Millions with Megaplier), along with the launch of a new game (Lucky for Life®). The Lottery is very thankful for the dedicated support of our 450 retailers, as our success would not be possible without you and the hard work of your employees.

During the fiscal year ending June 30, 2016, the Lottery’s ticket sales were $35.6 million. Sales increased by 31.9% compared to last fiscal year. Thanks to the unprecedented $1.5 Billion Powerball jackpot and the addition of the Lucky for Life game, the Lottery had a record-setting sales year.

Fiscal Year Comparisons

North Dakota Lottery retailers earned over $1.74 million in sales commission and over $70,000 in bonus commission.

So where did the money go this year? The Lottery transferred $9.58 million to the State General Fund, along with $320,000 to the Compulsive Gambling Prevention and Treatment Fund and $422,500 to the Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force Grant Fund.

Since the launch of the Lottery, North Dakota players have won over $108 million in prizes and Lottery retailers have earned over $15.4 million in sales and bonus commission. In addition, the Lottery has contributed $78.5 million to the State General Fund, $2.7 million to the Compulsive Gambling Prevention and Treatment Fund, and $3.8 million to the Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force Grant Fund.

We look forward to 2017 as another year that promises to be fun, exciting, and rewarding for the Lottery and our retailers. I encourage you to continue to utilize the Lottery’s customer service specialists to make sure you have the products and point-of-sale material you need to optimize sales.

North Dakota Lottery draw games make great gifts! Players can purchase Give-A-Gift gift certificates for $1, $5, $10 or $20. These gift certificates can be printed right from your lottery terminal. To sell a Give-A-Gift gift certificate:

1. Select the Give-A-Gift icon located at the lower right corner of the Main Menu screen.

2. Select the dollar amount ($1, $5, $10 or $20) and the gift certificate will automatically print.

To redeem a Give-A-Gift gift certificate, cash it as if it was a winning lottery ticket.1. Scan the gift certificate through the lottery

terminal.2. The terminal will display the certificate’s value

in the customer balance box at the top of the menu screen.

3. Print the player’s requested game ticket(s). If a player has requested more tickets than value of the gift certificate, the player will owe the difference.

Cash Dash returned in November and players were excited! During the promotion, total lottery sales increased 23.5% compared to the weekly average prior to the promotion. Players won over $36,000 in instant prizes, including eight $500 instant winners!
