The Motivator . . . The Scoreboard!

Never let the difference between smilies and frownies be larger than 3 points. If you reward too much, your students will lose

motivation. If you punish too much, they will quit trying.

Here is a huge point.

The Scoreboard is fixed!

Whenever you want to make a big point,

totally focus your class, you say “hands and eyes.”

Your class repeats “hands and eyes”, folds their hands and stares at you.

The Activator . . . Mirrors/Mirrors and Words

Mirrors is one of WBT’s simplest and most powerful techniques.

You say “mirrors” and your students respond “mirrors.”

They then pick up their hands ready to mimic your gestures.

You say “mirrors and words” and your students respond “mirrors and words,” ready to mimic your gestures and repeat your words.
