AMREL’s SPS 2.0 kW and larger models feature the latest in current fed switching technology for greater reliability: higher Mean Time Before Failure (MTBF). Unlike voltage fed converters, the current fed converters are more tolerant of abusive loads, as they eliminate fast rising current spikes or magnetic core saturation. This technology delivers superior power and advanced microprocessor control.

SPS 2 kW and larger models offer the simialar standard features and options as the SPS 1.2, 1.6, and 3.2 Bonefide models. Additionally, water cooling, weatherization, 400Hz AC input frequency, and customization options are available, to address requirements for military and commercial applications.

The FEL programmable for single cell fuel cell applications. Voltage ratings can be as low as 10V, operating at full current at 0.4V, and at half current at 0.2V. This means that the 300W, 10V FEL can dissipate 200A at 0.4V and 100A at 0.2V. AMREL’s programmable s are available in the widest range of voltage and current combinations. The full-scale voltage ranges from a low of 60 volts (which allows full current draw down to 0.6V) to 1200V and higher.

The maximum current draw ranges from 2000A in a single unit and offers higher levels when paralleled or delivered as a system. Higher wattage systems (from 30 kW to 250+ kW) are available upon request.

Choose from AMREL’s PLA (air-cooled series) or the PLW (water-cooled series) or the compact LPL (low-profile 1U, air-cooled 600W series). All three configurations offer the latest, most advanced, most reliable products on the market today.

Shielded Enclosures

USC’s ferrite chamber meets the IEC 1000-4-3, 461/462D immunity test specifications and FCC standards and can be used for ANSI C63.4 prescan.

USC enclosures and ferrite chamber come in various sizes, including compact, 3-meter and 10-meter sizes. For larger cabinets, moveable platforms are available.

Our RF enclosure is designed to be rigid and strong to support the ferrite tile and absorber materials. An interference free environment is produced to help quickly obtain reliable test data.

Our popular USC-26 series features: laminated wood core panels with galvanized steel on both surfaces, providing 110dB min of attenuation from 14 kHz to 10 GHz when subjected to electric fields and plane waves. The USC-44 copper screen rooms perform conducted and radiated emissions for pre-screen testing, while allowing for visual and verbal communications between the interior and the exterior.

The door’s perimeter features a “knife-edged” extrusion which mates with fingers within the door frame. This design results in a seal which provides years of trouble-free operation with no loss of attenuation capability.

ESPEC Corporation makes chambers that simulate polar cold and blistering heat. So, providing the temperature extremes & working space would seem to be enough information to select the right test chamber. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy: engi-neers can get into dangerous territory by proceeding too quickly.

Hot & cold. It’s simple enough. But skip over just one of the little details and chances are some-one is going to have a lot to tell management: the project is delayed and more money is needed to get the right product for the job – even though you now own a 32 ft³ chamber that goes from -35°C to +150°C.

Why? Perhaps the composition or live load (watts) of your product, the desired test profile, or the available facilities were left out of the equation. It could be that you forgot that the chamber’s desired location does not have three-phase power or enough power to run the chamber. Maybe you needed a chilled water supply or a drain for the humidity system. Possibly,

the temperature ramp rate (a crucial parameter that dictates refrigeration type and size) was not adequately defined. Because the selection involves so many variables, even seasoned engineers can overlook something critical.

Most Extreme Rugged Products in the Industry

Many commercial board manufacturers claim that they offer “ruggedized” products which give the impression of durability under tough conditions. The term ‘ruggedized’ however often refers to desktop grade designs which are screened at high temperatures with high yield fallout. Do not be fooled by these claims. ADLINK understands that ruggedness should be inherent in the design. Our extreme rugged products are subjected to extensive voltage and temperature margin tests during the new product development process along with Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALT) and shock and vibration testing.

Highly Accelerated Life Test

ADLINK subjects our extreme rugged products to HALT during the product development process. This testing is performed at an outside test lab managed by industry experts.

Extended Temperature Testing

ADLINK offers optional Extended Temperature Testing (ETT). By testing each unit in production, ADLINK verifies that all boards will operate and function at temperatures from –40° to +85°C. Optional conformal coating is a protective material applied over electronic circuitry and can prevent short circuits, corrosion, dendritic growth and electro migration of metals between conductors.

Embedded BIOS

Rather than simply using desktop BIOS, ADLINK adds BIOS extensions that support the development and deployment of embedded systems.
