The Perfect MeetingFaculty Meeting

The Facilitator

In order for a meeting to transpire, the facilitator must give participants plenty of notice of when the meeting will take place by:

Memos

Emails

Memo/Email will include:

Purpose of meeting

Attendees-who is attending

Date and time-when the meeting will take place and the duration.

Required materials-what is needed to prepare for meeting.

Advance preparation-a questionaire, survey, or an informative reading for participants.

Name of recorder and time keeper

Agenda description-a timeline of what will take place during the meeting.

Preparing for the Meeting

Faciliator must consider the following:Environment-must accommodate all participants. Comfortable, inviting, and safe (ighting, seating arrangements, refreshments, etc).

Materials-consider what is needed to present the information and what is needed for participation. Provide an agenda outline so participants can follow the meeting and information relevant to meeting (handouts, activity sheets, technlogy,etc).

According to Dettmer, et. al (2013), meetings should be called when there is verifiable need and an overall purpose with definite objectives (pg. 162). When planning a meeting, te facilitator must consider running the meeting as teachers run their classrooms. Considering the enviroment, how the message will be delivered and how the participants will receive the information and providing creative ideas in order catch the audience, so they walk away gaining
