Samaritan’s Feet Back to School Shoe DriveThroughout the month of August, Thrivent partnered with Samaritan’s Feet to collect new shoes for children and offer a message of hope. In an effort to help make back to school time easier on families across the nation, the Thrivent Member Network hosted a shoe drive from Aug. 1–31, holding a particularly special day of donating on Aug. 21. Folks were treated for giving on that day: a complementary ice cream treat was provided to anyone who dropped off new school shoes for kids over the noon hour at our Johnston office location!

Learn more about the Thrivent Financial and Samaritan’s Feet partnership here.

Thrivent Thursdays On the second Thursday of every month starting in August, the Thrivent Member Network – Greater Iowa has been hosting a Thrivent Thursdays Coffee Conversations open house. Members and their guests are invited to stop by the Thrivent table at Freedom Blend

Coffee from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to get a free cup of coffee from us. EVERYONE is welcome! Members get to ask any Thrivent-related questions they may have, chat with other Thrivent members, learn more about the Thrivent Member Network and events, and learn more about Thrivent member benefits!

We’ve had a handful of Thrivent Financial professionals join us at each Thrivent Thursday to help answer questions as well. It’s a low-pressure way to meet with Thrivent staff and advisors to chat in a comfortable environment!

Iowa/Iowa State Pregame Party! The Thrivent Member Network – Greater Iowa hosted a wildly popular pregame party for the Iowa/Iowa State game on Sept. 14!

77 guests attended the Iowa City event at Joe’s Place, and 52 fans came out to The District Venue in Ankeny! A donation drive was held, and members showed up with an overwhelming number of donations of kids’ activities for the Boys & Girls Club of Story County and necessities for kids and families for the Community Crisis Services of Iowa City. Each attendee received a customized Live Generously T-shirt with choice of “Go Cyclones” or “Go Hawkeyes.”

Other activities included pay-to-play football-themed games (all funds raised were donated to the partner organizations), financial education trivia and a social media challenge.

Our guests had a great time in preparation for the big game while making a difference for two local nonprofits!
