The Hedley Palmer Award is a special form of recognition presented each year by APPrO to honour an individual who in the judgment of the APPrO Board has made an outstanding contribution to the Ontario power industry. It has been given to a different individual each year since 1989 during the banquet dinner at the annual IPPSO or APPrO Conference. According to APPrO, it’s the highest honour bestowed annually in the power generation business in Canada.

Hedley Palmer and WiRE awards

The WiRE Women of the Year Award recognizes and celebrates professional women working in the energy sector who go above and beyond business-as-usual, consistently demonstrate outstanding leadership, and have contributed significantly to the expansion and improvement of the power sector. WiRE presents three Women of Distinction Awards annually: Wind Power, Solar Power and Woman of the Year. The WiRE Woman of the Year Award will be presented by WiRE Founders and Co-Chairs Joanna Osawe and Rebecca Black on November 15th, 2016 as part of the Annual Canadian Power Banquet, during the 28th Annual Canadian Power Conference and Networking Centre.
