Introduction

IMPORTANT: Read through this instruction thoroughlyand familiarize yourself with the tractor beforeinstalling the power beyond quick coupler kit.

This instruction demonstrates procedures for installinga power beyond quick coupler kit on 5000, 5010 series

open station and cab tractors, 5020 series straddlemount tractors and other later model series tractors. Anyvariance of installation between tractor model and type oftractor are explained during installation of this kit.

Prepare Tractor1. Park tractor on flat level surface and engage park

brake. Place wheel chocks or wood blocks in front ofand behind both front wheels.

2. With engine off, completely lower rockshaft. Openrate-of-drop valve and move rockshaft position controllever and draft sensing lever fully forward.

3. Operate mid-mount valve joystick (forward andbackward and side to side), if equipped, to releasehydraulic pressure in system.

4. Operate rear SCV levers, if equipped, forward andbackward to release hydraulic pressure in system.

5. Tractors without cab: remove right-side rear wheeland fender.

2. Remove and discard plastic plug (C) coveringthreaded hole on right rear side of differential case.

4. Install straight fitting (B) on quick disconnect coupler(A) and tighten to specification.

2. Remove extend coupler (C) and retract coupler (D)from SCV coupler bracket.

3. Remove and discard cap screw (E), nut and cap screw(F) and SCV coupler bracket (G).

4. Pull dust plugs (F) from couplers. Remove and retainouter snap ring (E) from each coupler.

5. Remove couplers (A—D) from coupler bracket.

6. Remove and retain cap screws and nuts (G and H).This mounting hardware will be used to install newSCV coupler bracket.

7. Remove and discard dual SCV coupler bracket (I).

8. Install new SCV coupler bracket (C) using one capscrew and nut (A) and two cap screws and nut (B)removed earlier. Do not tighten at this time.

9. Position coupler bracket (E) as shown in photo. InstallM8 x 40 cap screw (G), M8 nut (F) and M14 x 25 capscrew (D). Tighten SCV and coupler bracket mountinghardware to specifications.

10. Tractors equipped with mid-mount control valve:Disconnect hydraulic hose (A) from adapter (B).

• Remove and retain adapter (B). Disconnect hydraulichose (C).

11. Disconnect and remove six hydraulic hoses (A and B),if equipped, from SCV starting with the outside hosesand working inward.

12. Remove all quick disconnect couplers (C) fromhydraulic hoses (A and B). Discard all hydraulic hoses(A and B).

IMPORTANT: Always use new O-rings. Damagedor used O-rings will leak.

13. Replace O-ring on threaded end of each quickdisconnect coupler (C).

14. Install quick disconnect couplers (B), removed earlier,on the 45° end of each new short and long hydraulichose (C) ordered separately. If couplers are equippedwith colored dust plugs (A), install quick disconnectcouplers to new hydraulic hose as follows.

• Connect quick disconnect couplers with red, yellowand green dust plugs to each new short hydraulichose (RE57712).• Connect quick disconnect couplers with blue, blackand orange dust plugs to each new long hydraulichose (RE45723).

15. Tighten quick disconnect couplers to specification.Specification

16. Replace O-ring (B) on all fittings before connectingnew hydraulic hoses.

17. Connect short hydraulic hose (C) with green dust plug,if equipped, to front inside fitting on valve. Do nottighten at this time.

18. Connect long hydraulic hose (A) with orange dustplug, if equipped, to rear inside fitting on valve. Do nottighten at this time.

19. Install short hydraulic hose (C) with green dust plug, ifequipped, in the top right hole in SCV coupler bracket(D) and the long hydraulic hose (A) with orange dustplug, if equipped, in the top left hole in SCV couplerbracket (D).

20. Install snap ring (E), removed earlier, on each coupler.Tighten hydraulic hoses at valve to specification.

21. Connect short hydraulic hose (B) with yellow dustplug, if equipped, to front fitting on valve as shown.Do not tighten at this time.

22. Connect long hydraulic hose (A) with black dust plug,if equipped, to rear fitting on valve as shown. Do nottighten at this time.

23. Install short hydraulic hose (B) with yellow dust plug,if equipped, in the center right hole in SCV couplerbracket (D) and the long hydraulic hose (A) with blackdust plug, if equipped, in the center left hole in SCVcoupler bracket (D).

24. Install snap ring (C), removed earlier, on each coupler.Tighten hydraulic hoses at valve to specification.

25. Connect short hydraulic hose (B) with red dust plug,if equipped, to front outer fitting on valve as shown.Do not tighten at this time.

26. Connect long hydraulic hose (A) with blue dust plug,if equipped, to rear outer fitting on valve as shown.Do not tighten at this time.

27. Install short hydraulic hose (B) with red dust plug, ifequipped, in the bottom right hole in SCV couplerbracket (D) and the long hydraulic hose (A) with bluedust plug, if equipped, in the bottom left hole in SCVcoupler bracket (D).

28. Install snap ring (C), removed earlier, on each coupler.Tighten hydraulic hoses at valve to specification.

threaded plugs and end cap to preventcontamination of hydraulic system.

NOTE: Tractor without SCV shown. This procedure is thesame for tractors equipped with a single SCV.

1. Remove and discard three threaded plugs (A) fromend cap (C).

NOTE: The end cab must be removed to install a 45 °elbow fitting in the bottom pressure port.

2. Remove and retain four cap screws (B) and end cap(C).

IMPORTANT: Make sure O-rings are in place onboth ends of straight fitting and elbows beforeinstalling them. Missing O-rings will leak.

3. Install and position 90° elbow fitting (A) first, in theexcess flow return oil port (F) as shown. Install straightfitting (B) in return to tank port (C). Tighten fittings (Aand B) to specification.

6. Clean mating surfaces of inlet housing and end capusing clean and cure primer. Apply a thin bead offlexible sealant around the outside edge of matingsurface on end cap (B).

7. Apply thread lock and sealer (medium strength) tothreads of cap screws (A and C).

8. Install end cap (B) using two long cap screw (C) on thetop and short cap screws (A) on the bottom. Tightencap screws to specification.

NOTE: The outer SCV valve spool detent cover and valvespool must be removed to install a 90° elbow fitting.

Two small detent balls and two springs are locatedunder detent cap screws (B). Make sure not to losedetent springs and balls when removing cover.

4. Turn detent screws (B) out 3 mm (1/8 in.) to loosendetent on valve spool. Remove two cover screws (C)and valve spool detent cover (A).

5. Remove spring locking pin (D) from outer SCV joysticklinkage.

NOTE: The right side of fuel tank must be raised topull out valve spool from SCV.

6. Remove two screws and nuts from fuel tank retainingstraps.

7. Lift right side of fuel tank up approximately 25 mm (1in.) for clearance of valve spool (E). Remove valvespool (E) from SCV.

8. Install and position 90° elbow fitting (A) in return oil port(B) as shown in photo. Tighten fitting to specification.

9. Install straight fittings (C) in two bottom ports of SCVas shown. Tighten straight fittings to specification.

10. Coat valve spool (E) with clean transmission/hydraulicoil and install valve spool in SCV bore.

11. Install tee fitting (F) on the 90° elbow fitting. Position teefitting as shown in photo and tighten to specification.

13. Remove two detent screws (A), springs and balls (B)from detent cover (C) to aid during installation.

14. Install detent cover (C) and two cover screws (D).Tighten screws to specification.
