It’s the ability of individual or groups to induce or influence the beliefs or actions of other persons or groups
Although there are many different BASES OF POWER:1.Legitimate power2.Expertness3.Reward power4. Coercive power

AUTHORITY
It is the power to exercise discretion in decision making, it almost arises from the power of position or legitimate power.
Whenever people speak about “authority” in managerial settings ,they are usually referring to power of the position.
