CHAPTER-V
5.1 Potential Industries And Other Contributory Factors:
As already mentioned the, Dholpur district is considered to be one
amongst the industrial backward district of the state. As regard to the
availability of infrastructure facilities the district possess adequate
facilities for the development of the industrial sectors but if the
availability of resources is taken in to consideration the district is found
lacking behind in this particulars aspect. Still taking in consideration the
strength of the district set up few industries are being identified having
good potential
5.1.1 Resoures;
The in time resources available in Dholpur district related in the industria
development have already discussed in chapter II of this report . The
analysis of available resources reveals that the district does not have the
sufficient concentration of important mineral resources. Bajra, Wheat
and Barley are the main crop product of Dholpur. The district has live
stock population of 5.31 lacs consisting of 0.61 lacs cattle, 3.59 laces
buffaloes and 0.98 lacs goats mils is in available in the district in
substantial quantity , beside milk the hide and bones etc. are also
available in the district in sufficient quantity which maybe of good
industrial potential.
5.1.2 Infra- Structure:
The infra- structure such as power, rail and road network communication
etc. is adequate to counter to the present level of industrialization keeping
in view the demand of industrial plots in Dholpur sub- division Growth
centre has development with 1300 industrial plots. However other social
amenities like education, medical & health facilities network of banks
and other financial institution etc are just sufficient.
5.2 Strategies Suggested:
To accelerate the rate of industrial growth in the district it is essential
firstly to give stress to the development and expansion of existing
industrial areas along with processing new industrial areas and -------
location which have right prospects for coming up of new industrial units
and secondly to suggest the package of viable and feasible new industrial
ventures which have good prospects in the district.
5.3 Potential Industries/Agro Based:
The list potential industrial ventures based on the available resources of
demand ofthe local as Well as neighboring districts people the under
23
suggested strategy is drawn after detailed Discussion with district
existing industrialists and trade association apart of consulting other
related local offices in Dholpur district. The details of such potential
industrial units are as given under:-

Foot Loose Industries:
These industries are market oriented and do not generally depend upon
resources available locally and in the surrounding nearby areas. Rather
the setting up of industries mainly depend upon the individuals choice
and convenience. Dholpur district being connected with good roads and
railway routes (both narrow gauge as well as broad gauge) can be the
good location. For setting up a few such industries in its township. Semi
urban areas as well as rural areas .A list of such suggested footloose

5.2 PROPOSED AGUMENTATOIN OF INDUSTRIAL AREA:
PROPOSED EXPENSION
Keeping in view the heavy demand for industrial plots and number of
plots already allotted in both the industrial area located at Dholpur. It is
proposed hereby to further expand the following industrial areas.
SAMATHURA INDUSTRIAL AREA
Besides this area due to heavy demand of Dholpur stone, three more
industrial areas at Sarmathura could be development as stone quarries are
locally available.
PROPOSED NEW INDUSTRIAL AREAS:
28
A part of the proposed expansions of the above state two industrial areas
at Dholpur it is also proposed to develop one more industrial area at
National Highway No- 3 location. This additional industrial area in being
suggested for two reasons.
(1) There is no other suitable location except Dholpur in the district for
augmentation of the industrial development and.
(2) As Dholpur city is also well connected with other commercial and
trading cities of U.P. and M.P. like Agra and Gwalior and entrepreneurs
from these areas can be attracted for setting up their own venture
locations and secondly if the package of some extra incentive ( as
compared to Gwalior and Agra) may be given to them.
5.5 SUGGESTED STRATEGY FOR ARTISANS UPGRADATION:
In the state of Rajasthan Dholpur district has some tradition of
handicrafts in different avenue, the two major among them are
manufacturing of aratari and shoe. In Rajasthan shoe making is being
done by artisans of sagar para, mohalla and old city, Dholpur.
5.6 SUGGESTION:
It is proposed to organized few skill and technology upgradation
programs (STUP) by Industrial development Bank India, RUDA,
Simultaneously few skill development short term training programs of
micro, small & medium enterprises development Institutes (MSME)
would also remain beneficial for the existing artisans for Handicraft
trade, these proposed programs will certainly benefit the artisans by
way of enhancement in their skills as well as the quality of the products
manufactured by them.
CHAPTER-VI
Summary On The Finding Recommendation:
1. The administrative set up of the district six sub- divisions, six tehsils and
five panchayat samities.
2. The literacy rate in the district is good 69.08% compared to the states
average literacy rate i.e. 66.11 percent . about 83% of the total population
of the district reside in rural areas and agriculture is the main occupation
of its people .
3. The district possesses inadequate water and irrigation facilities in general.
But as concerned to industrial development , the district has sufficient
water for meeting out the need of the existing and emerging industries.
29
4. The major crop produce of the district are wheat , rice , mustard , barley
& gram and hence a few agro based industries are suggested .
5. The district has a good population of livestock , and therefore , a few
livestock based industries are being suggested in the district .
6. The major minerals available in the district are sand stone , limestone ,
bajri and masonry .
7. as regards to existing infrastructure facilities in the district , the main
lacunas is the inadequate rial and road linkages /connection of the district
with other towns of commercial and trading importance . there is a need
to supply more power in the district
8. As regards to existing Industrial status the district is one amongst the
industrially backward districts of the state . as 31.03.2011 has four units
in medium and large scale sector. The total registered units in small scale
sector were 1292 as 31.03.2015 with employment for 6456 persons and
capital investment of Rs. 16253.89.
9. 50 different type of potential industrial units have been suggested at
different locations in the district.
10. presently there are Seven industrial areas in existence in the district
located Dholpur , bari , as on 31.03.2015 in this Dholpur industrial area
100% plots have been allotted , while in growth centre Dholpur industrial
area 80% plots were allotted , and in Bari industrial area only 80% plots
are allotted. New industrial area village vishnoda has developed plots
available for allotment 10% plots allotted recently.
11. Keeping in view the lack of entrepreneurship skill among the people of
district it is proposed to organize one general EDP at Dholpur .
12. TO accelerate the pace of industrial development in the district, industrial
promotion campaigns / camps are suggested for being organized at
Dholpur , Bari Rajakhera and Baseri. In such camps , the active presence
of all the involved state level agencies in the field of industrial
development would be desirable .
13. In order to development local artisans and to promote local handicraft in
the district a training and skill development program is suggested is
suggested to increase the expertise of these artisans, which in turn, will
30
certainly raise the quality of their and thus their average earnings will
increase .
14. Considering fact rural artisans are scattered at different locations of the
district and it do not become possible to make them assemble at one
place, it is suggested that Govt. should provide a mobile training center of
providing training to such scattered artisans of the district.
