S c POSTAL STATIONERY NOTES ; S Volume 8, No. 6 December 1989 DUES: This is the final issue of Volume 8 of Postal Stationery Notes. If a red "x" appears in this box [7 your 1990 Study Group fee (CANS5.00 or U.S. equivalent) is now due. (Your membership expiry date is also printed on your address label.) I f s e n d i n g U.S. funds, please make out the cheque t o "Robert Lemire", --- not to the ?ostal Stationery Study Group. However, the good news is that this year my bank decided to stop charging a large fee for cashing cheques drawn or U.S. banks. This means that such cheques should clear much more quickly, as they do not have to be sent to someone i n t h e U.S. to bc cashed in batches. Our thanks to Bill and Jean Walton for helping to handle the cheques over the last few years. SOMI: COMMEXTS FROM THE EDITOR Since 1981, when the Pos:al St~tionery Study Group was formed, several P changes in procedures by BNAPS have had a very positive impact on our Study Group. First, was the decision to make space in each issue of BNA Topics for "The Study Group Centerline". This column, capably prepared by Frank Waite, gives BNAPS members a chance to learn what is being done in all of the groups. Second, BNAPS decided to provide money to defray the cost of providing copies of the newsletters to specific officers of BNAPS. Then, last year, it was decided to begin offering new members of BNAPS a one-year,free membership in the Study Group of their choice (and to reimburse the Study Groups for these memberships). With such encouragement, memb 2rship in the Study Group has now reached more than eighty. Many member: are interested only in a particular area of BNA postal stationery. Althc~ugh the large size of the group allows us to maintain annual dues a t a relsonably low level, it has also meant the group has reached the point wh2re it is hard for one member to know who else is interested in a partic llar topic. With this in mind I feel the time has come to publish a complete roster of the membership. With this issue of PSN I have enclosed a form which members can return if they wish to note special areas of interest (or if they wish to be omitted from the roster list). It is my intention that the roster will be published in the next six months. Postal Stetionery Notes is the newsletter of the BNAPS Postal Stationery Study Croup, * n~~d is c.!~lited by Robert Lemire. All information for the newsletter, and * * correspondence about the study group, should be addressed to Robert Lemire, Box 549, * p * Pinawa, ME, Canada ROE 1LO. Y
