WOP DUBAI, the Middle East’s leading exhibition for fresh fruits and vegetables business continues growing! For the 9th consecutive year WOP DUBAI was organized under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE, Minister of Finance and Chairman of Dubai Municipality. The exhibition took placed on December 5, 6 and 7, 2017 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, alongside, the 12th edition of IPM DUBAI – International Plants Expo Middle East, the region’s leading exhibition for plants and flowers. Both shows were inaugurated by H.E. Buti Saeed Al Ghandi – Second Vice Chairman of the Board, Dubai World Trade Centre Authority, along with H.E. Thomas Kufen – the Lord Mayor of the city of Essen and are organized by planetfair Dubai and Messe Essen GmbH in cooperation with the Dubai Municipality and Dubai Central Fruit and Vegetable Market, the Middle East’s biggest market for import and export. The total outcome of the show this year reflected again the huge growth in the trade of perishables in the Middle East and proved the position of WOP DUBAI as the only trade fair for fresh produce in the region as well as strengthen the emirates of Dubai as an important destination and a worldwide trading center for fruits and vegetables. The constant growth of past years continued this year. Overall, 221 participating companies from 35 countries exhibited at WOP DUBAI 2017 and presented a wide range of products and services. The exhibitors came from Argentina, Australia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Germany, Ghana, Greece, India, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Korea, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Morocco, the Netherlands, Oman, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Spain, Swaziland, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States. 12 official country pavilions were joining the show from Australia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, China, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Kenya, Moldova, Morocco, the Netherlands. 5,482 traders and industry professionals from 82 different countries visited the exhibition. The International Plants Expo Middle East - IPM DUBAI 2017 took place parallel to WOP DUBAI, a total number of 9,660 visitors’ attended both shows. WOP DUBAI 2018 will continue its success at the same venue in Dubai World Trade Centre - the most prestigious exhibition center in the Middle East - where it is expected to have another substantial increase of space and capacity for the exhibition and to provide exhibitors more services and space options.
