Batac City, Ilocos Norte. Some 380 delegates and cooperators attended the Regional Gender Summit in Cooperatives on October 4-5, 2012 at the same time the conduct of the Provincial Cooperative Month for the province of Ilocos Norte at the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), City of Batac, and Ilocos Norte. The event is in partnership the Cooperative Development Authority-Dagupan Extension Office in partnership with the Provincial Cooperative Development Council of Ilocos Norte and the Metro Laoag Federation of Cooperatives

The theme of this year’s summit is “Pasingkedan Ti Kinatan-ok Ni Ilokana Babaen Ti Kooperatiba: WomEntrepreneurship in Ilocos Region” The presentations and discussions was focused on two major topics: Entrepreneurship and Business Management in Cooperatives and Leadership and Values Re-Orientation. The keynote Speaker was Atty. Albert Chua who represented Hon. Cong. Imelda E. Marcos

A diverse group of speakers were invited from partner national government agencies such as DOST, DOLE and DA for the topic “Paghawak ng Pera: Pag-ipon, Pag-ikot, Pag-utang”; DTI for the topic “Mga Produkto at Serbisyo at ang Merkado Products and Services Development & Marketing Strategies”; MMSU for the topic “Mangarap, Maniwala, Magsikap”; GLEDCO, Bagnos MPC, Nagbacalan MPC for the topic: “Tagumpay Mula Sa Kahirapan - Inspiring Stories of Successful Entrepreneurs”; PCU-IN for the topic “Roles, Functions, Authority, Responsibility and Accountability of  Cooperative Officers”; NWUMPC for the topic “Elements and Attributes of Effective Coop Leaders” and MMSU “Values Re-orientation for Coop Officers”.

The first night was devoted to fashion Show of Abel Iloco”; Padapadakam for “October Born” ; Ball Room Dancing; Awarding of Outstanding Women Cooperative Leaders and special tribute to Sr SCd Corazon A Martin as Women Leader and her valuable contribution to the authority

Lingayen, Pangasinan. A total of 500 delegates/cooperators graced the 2012 Joint Regional and provincial (Pangasinan) Cooperative Month Celebration was conducted at Sison Auditorium, Provincial Capitol Compound, Lingayen, Pangasinan last October 26, 2012. Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker was no less than the Chairman, Cooperative Development Authority, Dr. Emmanuel M. Santiaguel, Hon. Jose R. Ping-Ay of COOP NATCCO PartyList.

The Gawad Parangal Awardees for 2012 were the following:

For cooperatives that were able to substantially increase their membership, were awarded the most prolific cooperatives.

Dr. Santiaguel also inducted the League of Cooperative Development Officers of the Philippines (LCDOP) – Pangasinan and Pangasinan Cooperative Union.
