Post-Event Report

The inaugural Energy and Mines Santiago Summit welcomed over 330 senior mining executives, renewables and finance professionals and government officials to discuss and network about energy cost reductions and efficient, alternative power solutions for the Chilean mining sector.

This high-caliber event included presentations on the latest and most successful case studies of renewable integration for large-scale, grid-connected projects and remote hybrid mines. The event covered critical topics for the future successful partnerships between renewables and mining, including finance, stakeholder relations, and technology challenges.

The summit keynote was provided by Energy Minister Máximo Pachecho, while the speaker line-up included senior representatives from major mines such as CODELCO, Antofagasta, Collahuasi, Goldcorp and BHP Billiton, Hatch, Siemens, SunEdison, Rijn Capital and Black & Veatch.

Lunches, Breaks and Receptions Exhibition Floor

The event was enhanced by an exciting and diverse schedule with several networking breaks and functions at key points during the conferences. All delegates, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors had the opportunity to meet, introduce themselves and exchange business contacts. We encouraged and helped all the attendees to build excellent relationships, scheduling over nine hours of formal networking activities.

The conference opened with a relaxed reception for all attendees providing a chance to network informally.

The second night featured a drinks reception followed by an exclusive VIP event for main sponsors and key mines at the Canadian Ambassador’s Residence.

The bespoke, intimate exhibition space provided a limited number of exhibitors the chance to have a visual and physical presence for the full summit. All the exhibit booths were located close to a refreshment station and the conference room entrance, providing a dynamic, accessible space with plenty of traffic.
